NEWSLETTER March 2014 R O C K I N G H A M F O R E S T Chairman’s Chat Well the year is flying by. We seem to have been hit by the worst possible weather. Everything seems to take twice as long. Hopefully by the time this Newsletter goes out it will be a little more spring like .We can live in hope! We have lots of things coming up and again at point of print we will have had both Winter qualifiers in Show jumping and Dressage. On the note of teams and qualifiers I have to report that both Rosemary and Rachael have stepped down as team managers due to other commitments . I would like to thank them both for everything they have done for us. They are still part of RFRC but not on the committee so hopefully we'll still see them around and, in Rachael’s case, competing. Please remember if you do wish to become involved in Area Qualifiers it is up to you to let us know. Details will be provided well in advance so just fill in the entry form and send it off to us. Unfortunately we do not have the time to 'chase' people. If you feel you would like to be more involved in the club and would like to be a committee member then please let me know. Within the Newsletter you will see that Hazel has arranged a fab trip to the National Stud at Newmarket. Read further for full details. Please note numbers are limited. If you are not yet a member and are still thinking about doing it you can now join online. Go to our website www.rfrc.org.uk . Look at the tool bar that says 'membership forms' and it can all be done there ... Club Social Events Cheese & Wine & Raffle draw evening 21

The response to both of these were in my eyes abysmal. Very few people
bothered to sell and send in raffle tickets (many thanks to those who did)
albeit for very good causes, our own riding club – we need to funds to stay
afloat and even more worthy the air ambulance. The cheese and wine
evening itself very poorly supported, but was very much enjoyed by those
who did come along. Al 36 prizes were claimed and have been distributed
and the £100 first prize was won by Mrs Khadine Haywood who purchased
the winning ticket on the eve of the draw. As of this time of writing I do not
know the outcome of this fund raising effort. Needless to say I will not be
organising the same again.
Visit to the National Stud Newmarket
Saturday 26th
April start 10am price £35 per person, includes bus, light lunch
and tour. Only 8 seats left! Please ring Hazel to book in a small deposit will be
