Split Frame Clamshells

The most popular Hydratight machining solution from DLRicci is our split frame Clamshells. These pipe cutting andbeveling tools come in five different models and can workon pipe from .5" to 177". Our portable machines offerunsurpassed control and power as well as fast set-up andease of use. They have been designed for severing, I.D.boring, flange facing and O.D. turning. They are precise,providing excellent surface finishes and hold tight toleranceson all applications. The patented, fully adjustable bearingdesign gives our clamshells ultimate longevity. There is alsoa variety of Clamshell accessories for situations such as out-of-round pipe, low profile clearance, chipless or singlepoint cutting, weld crown reduction and more.

Both Hydratight field staff and engineers are experiencedin the customization of our machining tools to fit the exactneeds of each particular on-site application.

Hydraulic Power Supply Units

Hydratight’s DL Ricci Hydraulic Power Supply Units(frequency drives) are self-contained and ready to meet anypower requirements. Available in 10hp and 20hp units.

• Produces flow from 3 to 18 gallons/minute

• Line pressure up to 2,000 PSI

• Remote control pendant allows remotely controlled machine operations

• Units are equipped with smooth rolling casters

• Each unit comes with (set of two) 50 ft. lengths of hose with drip proof couplings

• Provides power for most portable machining equipment on the market

Various configurations of drive motors areavailable for our machines including frontdrives, straight back drives and right angledrives.

Axial Feed Module:

The Axial Feed Module isdesigned to work in limitedspace and hostileenvironments. Adaptable to our Clamshell Machine,the Module is used in somejournal turning applicationswhere areas of a shaft areworn and in need of repair.Designed for applicationswithin the highly exactingstandards of the nuclearindustry.

Swivel Head Module:

The Swivel Head Moduleattaches to all NB, MS, andHD Clamshells and all BUFacers. Angle cutting ismade easy with up to 60˚ of adjustability in the head.Applications such as facing,RTJ grooving, boring and angle boring areaccomplished with minimaleffort when using this module.

Out-Of-Round Tool BlockSlide:

The Out-Of-Round ToolBlock Slide rides on the O.D.of the pipe and reacts toerrors in roundness with adual-compensating springassembly. Works on up to 1" out-of-round pipe.

Single Point &Counterbore Modules:

Flange facing, boring,counterboring, RTJ groovesand compound angle weldpreps can be accomplishedwith one of these modules.They can be mounted onNB, MS, and HD Clamshellsand the BU Facer series.These modules help theoperator hold exactingtolerances with minimal effort.

Low Profile (LP)Tool Block Slide:

The Low Profile Tool BlockSlide allows cutting andbeveling on as little as 2 1⁄2" to 3 1⁄2" of pipe,depending on the prep. The LP brings the cutlinecloser to the back of themachine by reducing theaxial clearance required for cutting.

Chipless Cutter:

Chip free severing isaccomplished with this pizzacutting wheel. With ourChipless Cutter, no cuttingdebris will contaminate theinside of the piping system.

Tool Bits:

Hydratight also manufacturesour own tool bits and offerthe widest variety of standardtooling including straightsever 37 degree, 37/10degree, counter bore ordouble bevel. Custom toolbits can be created forspecial applications.

Overlay Sander:

A new Clamshell attachmentis our Overlay Sander whichis used for powerful sandingapplications. Attached to aClamshell and used primarilyfor weld crown reduction, theOverlay Sander may beequipped with a Spark Guardattachment for efficientcapture of debris.
