Welcome

3

Welcome to the first Rivelin Newsletter of 2015. It is set to be another year of development and growth, as we continue to invest in new designs and new technology. Towards the latter end of 2014 we refined our fire bowls, improving the aesthetics and widening the choice of designs and materials available. The result is a stunning collection of fire bowls from 900mm to 1600mm in diameter.

Rivelin continue to focus on quality and design and are proud to announce that we are exhibiting at the Chelsea flower show in 2015 in the Fresh area where we will display a number of our products. All Rivelin products are made to order, allowing the customer the ability to design the outdoor fire to complement their outdoor space. Whether it is a residential or commercial project, big or small, Rivelin have the skill, craftsmanship and know how to bring your vision to life.

We look forward to workingwith you in 2015.

Valencia 100 - A unique firebowl.

Page 5: Rivelin newsletter Jan 2015

The Valencia 100 gas fire table was recently chosen for an Oxford based garden as the centre piece of a socialising area. Built from 6mm 316 marine grade stainless steel and electropolished for increased corrosion resistance, this Valencia 100 is finished with a jet black ceramic top. The colours of the fire bowl perfectly complement the surrounding furniture and the materials of construction will ensure years of enjoyment. Unlike concrete fire bowls, stainless steel fire bowls will not collect mould and our ceramic tops are UV, scratch and stain resistant and require no annual sealing.

The Valencia is very simple to install. A few screws to hold it to the floor and an 8mm gas compression fitting, what could be simpler. Various other sizes and finishes are available for the Valencia fire bowl.

Case Study (Bespoke Gas Fire Table)Working from a sketch, this fire table was first created in 3D software SolidWorks before creating drawings and renders for client approval. The design of the table necessitated a framework being formed upon which the granite sides could be hung.

Constructed from a subframe of stainless steel box section and clad in 20mm honed black granite the fire table had at its heart a 23kw LPG gas burner. The base was welded, dressed and powder coated in RAL9005 black before cladding.

To complete the design, a stainless steel trim and lid and removable glass wind shield were installed along with black diamond ceramics.

Installing Rivelin productsWe are often asked “How do we install a gas fire table or gas fire bowl?” To be honest they are not difficult. The first point to note is that currently all Rivelin products can not be used with a gas bottle under the table. The gas supply must be external to the fire table or fire bowl. The 18kw burner used on Rivelin products, requires a gas bottle which is too big to fit under a table.

Decide whether you require an LPG or natural gas supply and provide a supply pipe to the centre of the fire table. The only Rivelin products where a supply pipe off centre is required, is when a drawer is ordered with the Madrid or Bahama. In this case, a supply towards the rear of the table base behind the draw is required.

Once the supply is in place, simply fasten the table base to the floor and connect the 8mm compression fitting.

Purge through the gas and light the pilot light using the battery ignition. Once you have proved the table lights successfully, add the trim and glass windshield followed by the ceramic fuel bed of choice.

Last but not least, sit back relax and enjoy the ambience created with every Rivelin outdoor fire.

Bahama in Award Winning Garden

Fire tables are a very practical alternative to feature fire pits. The customer will benefit from warmth, ambiance and at approx 50cm high, the granite table top is perfect for drinks or food.

Suitable for both commercial and domestic applications, the Bahama is truly a versatile gas fire table.

Award winning garden designer Patricia Fox of Aralia Gardens Ltd, has recently won a Gold award for “Best Roof Terrace Garden” at the New Homes Garden Awards 2014. The design featured at its heart a beautiful Rivelin Bahama gas fire table with a black granite top and a black powder coated stainless steel base. The Knightsbridge roof terrace project was undertaken on a Classical Grade II listed building for a leading international luxury London based property developer.

Running off a 47kg LPG gas bottle discretely located a few metres away behind a screen, the Bahama was up and running from being delivered in less than an hour. The final garden is simply stunning with the Bahama providing a unique focal point around which people will gather and socialise. Its great that the Bahama features at the heart of such a prestigious project. To see more photos go to www.aralia.org.uk

Technology Feature

All Rivelin fires tables come with a lid and a trim which are made from 316 marine grade stainless steel. In addition, these components are pickled, passivated and lightly elctropolished to further enhance their corrosion resistance. When a fire bowl is made in 316 stainless steel it goes through the same rigorous production process to ensure corrosion resistance.

Manual and Remote ControlsAll Rivelin gas fire tables and gas fire bowls are available with manual and remote controls. The manual control fitted to both fire bowls and fire tables comes with a battery powered spark ignition and a manual gas valve to adjust the flames between high and low settings. The “AA” battery powered spark ignition provides a constant stream of sparks for efficient and easy ignition.

Alternatively all Rivelin products are available with a remote control or wall switch powered controls. In the case of a fire bowl, remote controls ensure that there are no controls mounted on the side of the bowl. The bowl is activated by a remote control handset or a wall switch mounted up to 8m away. To ensure smooth running the controls for the elctronic gas valve are housed inside waterproof enclosures.

Not all outdoor gas burners employ this technology. Generally remote control outdoor gas valves are either ON or OFF, whereas Rivelins flame height can be adjusted between high and low.

Rivelin have extended the Valencia range of fire bowls to include the Valencia 90. At 90cm in diameter it is the smallest Valencia and suitable for the smaller space. Constructed from the same materials and with the same care as its larger siblings, the Valencia 90 is availabe with manual controls and a remote control or wall switch. With a 60cm pebble bed and a ceramic top the Valencia 90 is beautifully proportioned.

Corten Steel BaseBecause all Rivelin fires are built to order, we have the flexibility to use alternative materials when requested. CORTEN is growing in popularity and we have produced fire tables in the material when asked. CORTEN does require aging to achieve the weathered look and that can be achieved before delivery or on site. Aging CORTEN does take a while during which run off and staining can occur. For applications where run off is a problem, Rivelin have developed a powder coat finish which resembles an aged CORTEN finish. The beauty of this approach is that there is no run off and no extended aging process.

The CORTEN powder coat finish is available on all Rivelin products. Corten Steel Base Corten Powder coat base
