disasters . 3million people killed world wide due to natural
disaster in past 20years. In developing countries India has the second
largest shareDeclared 1990-99 as International Decade For
Natural Disaster Reduction
70% of the cultivable land is prone to drought
60% to earthquake 12% to floods 8% to cyclones22 state are categorised as multi hazard
states.

DM is a plan that has been done strategically & the process is administered & employed to protect critical assets from natural or human made calamities & destruction take place.

CBSE has integrated a short course on DM in the school curriculum.
They introduced the subject on DM as a frontline curriculum in social science .
