GLOBAL COLLABORATION: AN EXAMPLE Global Agenda of Action (AoA) in support of sustainable livestock sector development – A Multi-Stakeholder Platform • An FAO-led initiative, IDF is a member of the Interim
Preparatory Committee (IPC) • The AoA is “consensual and built on broad based, voluntary
and informal stakeholder commitment to act towards the improvement of resource-use efficiency in the global livestock sector to support livelihoods, long-term food security and economic growth while safeguarding other environmental and public health outcomes”
GLOBAL COLLABORATION: AN EXAMPLE Global Agenda of Action Three areas of focus:
o bridging the efficiency gap o restoring value to grassland o reducing discharge
• Current activities: Preparing the launch of the AoA in January, 2013 in Kenya and proceed with the launch of 3 pilot projects to promote practice change

Dairy Farmers of Canada (DFC) • DFC is the national policy, lobbying and promotional
organization representing Canada’s 12,746 dairy farms. DFC as supports research in: – dairy production (animal health and well-being,
production improvements, mitigation of environmental impacts, etc.)
