PARISH INFORMATION 19th Sunday in Ordinary Time Jesus said to his disciples: “Gird your loins and light your lamps and be like servants who await their master’s return from a wedding, ready to open immediately when he comes and knocks. Blessed are those servants whom the master finds vigilant on his arrival. Amen, I say to you, he will gird himself, have the servants recline at table, and proceed to wait on them. And should he come in the second or third watch and find them prepared in this way, blessed are those servants. Be sure of this: if the master of the house had known the hour when the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into. You also must be prepared, for at an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come.” (Luke 12:35-40)
TODAY’S READINGS 1st Reading - Wisdom 18:6-9 Psalm - Psalm 33:1, 12, 18-19, 20-22 2nd Reading - Hebrew 11:1-2, 8-12

(Lucas 12:35-40) LECTURAS DE HOY 1ra Lectura - Sabiduria 18:6-9 Salmo - 3:1, 12, 18-19, 20-22 2da Lectura - Hebreo 11:1-2, 8-12

A LETTER TO THE VOLUNTEERS OF CAMP SAVIO
Dear Volunteers,
Thank you for the time you have given us this camp season to make it a great one. It has been an honor receiving so much love and joy from all of you. Whether it be during snacks and lunch, or during regis-tration and other logistical things, you can bet you have spread God’s love all over the campus and beyond. Your efforts are much appreciated by the teenagers and children alike, even the ones who don’t even real-ize the amount of work you put in. It is truly a blessing, a miracle I should say, to receive so much help from all of your caring hands. You have made an equally dynamic impact on the lives of these campers as the counselors have; the impact starting from the time they first sign in to the last snack they have during the day. It all makes a difference, whether directly or indirectly, these kids have absorbed this sacrificial love from you all.
You bring God’s presence to them in a way the counselors
couldn’t and it is unique and beautiful. For example, volunteering your time and energy has allowed camp to provide the financial aid it gives to those children who otherwise would not have been able to attend. It is amazing to think that so many kids were given the opportunity to have a summer of a lifetime and a safe place to encounter God thanks to you! The smiles on your faces and the willingness and determination to serve these young people have also spoken to the souls of many of these campers and counselors. You are our role models and you have lighted the grand path of a vocation of service that has more than definitely grasped the interest of many young people. The youth very often say how much they love Savio because of the people who make it feel like home, which includes you all. The most important thing they say after-wards is that they would love to stay and serve this beautiful community for as long as they can in any way possible. The kids also say how they want to carry on their summer camp tradition by becoming a counselor and serving the kids who will come after them. This goes to show that your impact this camp season is not something temporary. You have inspired long lasting curiosity to follow God through service. You are all truly superheroes. Thank you all once again for the blessings you have bestowed upon us. We hope to see you again next summer! God Bless, Counselors and Campers of Camp Savio
AND THANK YOU TO ALL WHO DONATED THE PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY FOR CAMP!

Did You Know? The weather outside is beautiful, and one of the best places to play is the park. However, parents should start every visit to the park with a discussion with their kids about a safety plan. Kids should know what to do if a stranger were to approach them, and who to go to if they feel uncomfortable or threatened. Public parks are a great place to play, but they are exposed to the public. Having a safety plan in place can help parents and kids feel secure and play safely this summer.
