Through the activities carried out in the Pequeno Príncipe Complex and

because it is a reference in high and medium complexity, the institution has high

institutional visibility in Brazil and in the Planet. With new discoveries and

pioneering in the treatment of children and adolescents, the Complex is

regularly presented in the media, being in magazines, newspapers, television

and media and social networks.

Besides the representativeness in the treatment of complex diseases, the

Hospital goes beyond realizing dreams of children and providing the

humanization of its patients. The Education and Culture sector promotes

10

actions that go beyond the walls of the Hospital and can be replicated in other

countries, as well as punctual actions of the lives of some small ones that pass

through the Institution.

18

In addition to materials, media publications and social networks, the

Pequeno Príncipe Complex receives countless visits from personalities who

support the cause of child and youth health and who in some way mobilize the

community to assist in the continuity of the institution's work.

19

2. PARTNERS

The Pequeno Príncipe Complex has a range of partner companies that

are fundamental for the continuity of excellence activities in health care and

scientific research of the Institution.

They are small, medium and large companies that believe in the cause of

children's health and invest in different ways, and can be by direct investment,

punctual, monthly and by means of fiscal resignation.

Below is the list of some investor organizations:

3. JUSTIFICATION

The Pequeno Príncipe Hospital continuously seeks efficiency and

technical efficiency, coupled with the humanized treatment of each hospitalized

patient. In the last 5 years, the Pequeno Príncipe Complex has modernized and

updated its medical and nursing practices in regard to the care of its patients,

seeking to offer the supplies and equipment that, in addition to being resolutive

in the treatment of diseases, also care for the well being and comfort of those

served.

Reference is made exclusively to children and adolescents. It is also

equipped, with the Public Health System (SUS), for high complexity pediatric

care in 15 areas (cardiac surgeries, oncology, renal transplantation, hepatic,

cardiac, cochlear implant, among others).

More than 45% percent of the patients attended have between one day

of life and four years of age. They are patients who, due to the natural condition

of size and weight, require specific equipment compatible with their physical

and organic structure and the differentiated and more complex administration of

medicines and other medical supplies.

22

The Pequeno Príncipe allocates 70% of its capacity to patients coming

from the Public Health System and its revenue is mostly based on the transfer

of the Government. However, according to a study developed by the Federation

of Holy Houses of Mercy and Beneficent Hospitals of the State of Paraná,

Public Health System transfers only 60% of the amount that was effectively

invested in a treatment. That is, if a treatment costs R$ 100,00, their transfers

to the institution only R$ 60.00, leaving a value of R$ 40.00 on behalf of the

institution.

This scenario promotes the greatest challenge of the Pequeno Príncipe

Complex. Its existence. In order to continue the work of providing

comprehensive care to its patients with the highest quality of care, clinical staff,

drugs and equipment, the Complex has an area that fosters the collection of

resources through direct and indirect incentives, continuous or punctual

investments. This funding represents today the driving force responsible for

covering the failure to pass on the SUS and developing the institution in all

aspects.

However, the area can only expand if there are physical and legal

persons engaged in the cause of child-juvenile health. It is from these initiatives

that the Pequeno Príncipe seeks more and more, to consolidate partnerships,

mobilizing society to offer the best care to the children in need.
