Obse Lubo, RN, was born in Nejo, Ethiopia, and immigrated to the US in 2000. Obse, who is a member of Castro Valley Rotary, currently working at Stanford University
Medical Center, is dedi-cated to bringing relief and a better chance of life to the people of Nejo, one patient at a time.
Since 2009 Obse has gone to Ethiopia bringing medical supplies and providing training for the medical staff at Nejo
hospital.

Community Service
Funding for the future:
Castro Valley Rotary Endowment provides funds to benefit the local community, primarily scholarships for high school students.
The Rotary International Foundation promotes world peace and understanding through funding for world community service projects, Ambassadorial Scholars and Peace Scholars
International Service Youth
School supplies— provide backpacks with school supplies before school begins
Speech Contest – host an annual speech contest for high school students
Interact—sponsor clubs at Castro Valley and Redwood Christian High Schools, which involve youth in many community and International projects
Scholarships to graduating seniors for college, and for juniors to attend leadership camp for one week every summer
Let’s Go Fishing event annually at Lake Chabot
Polio Plus—We participate in the worldwide eradication of Polio
Philippines—Helped Rotaract with tooth brushes for their International Project in the Philippines
