About the Model Number ChangesIn 1999 the model numbering nomenclature for the PTAC cooling chassis and heat sections changed:

The MEK "A" Vintage unit is now the PKEC or PKEI or PKES Design "A" unit.

The MHK "A" Vintage unit is now the PKHS Design "A" unit. The unit's components did not change when the nomenclature did (a few engineering changes have taken place since this RPL was last issued, and the part number changes are noted). The complete model number nomenclature currently used has been added to this revision. Unless otherwise noted, all components listed in this revision apply to both the current and the original model numbered units.

Adapter Cordsmodel number, part number, or description of the old equip-ment is of no value in identification because all listed styles of Molex connector have been used in the past. The old Molex connector may be any of the applicable connectors shown. Select the correct adapter cord part number from the chart.

This information will enable you to obtain the correct adapter cord when you order a current replacement cool chassis for use with an old type K control box or a new heat section/control for use with an old cool chassis.

You will need to know the dimensions of the old Molex connector to which the adapter cord must mate. The unit

(If the existing connector plug style for a size 007-014 unit is unknown, order all four adapter cords listed & save or discard the unused cords). 10 A control box - heat section adapter cord is unnecessary when ordering a replacement heat section because a control box is part of the heat section assembly.
