Rules for Wrap Top Supplies
• Fabric Lightweight, 100% woven cotton (e.g. cotton poplin, patchwork-weight cotton fabric, etc.) Fabric must not contain any metallic elements such as glitter and metallic threads. Fabric must be new and unused. Fabric should be prewashed with no harsh detergents. Fabric with “Not to be used for sleepwear” cannot be used. No prints with death imagery (e.g. skulls), food (can be used for Newborn, 0-6m or 6-12m only), and religious connotations.
• Binding Binding must be 100% cotton. Straight cut binding can be used instead of bias cut, as there are no curves for this garment. Binding should be 1 inch wide.
• http://wrappyjamafairies.co.uk/patterns/: PDF Patterns
• Thread Thread should be cotton or polyester ONLY. Cotton thread is preferred. Thread must not be metallic.
• Usual sewing supplies
DO DON’T
Do use ties on all sizes to fasten the top.

stitch.
Don’t apply binding to the armholes, bottom hem or vertical raw edge on
front pieces.
Do construct the garment as per the instructions
Don’t fold over back of neckline before applying binding.
Do make sure you choose complementary fabrics if using more than one design. No “patching-up” of

Do sew the short edge of the binding/ties closed, as well as the
long edge.

Pyjama Fairies, PO Box 267, Manchester, M41 4DU Registered Charity No: 1166993
Do follow admins instructions regarding necessary adaptations for
specific orders.
Don’t use “Fray Check” as it may react to the child’s skin and may melt.
For specially adapted Wrap Tops with poppered shoulders, the
shoulders should fasten front over back.
If overlocking don’t overlock the underarm and side seam in one motion as it leaves a loop under armpit which
is VERY dangerous. Do feel free to add a cuff to sleeves
using a coordinating fabric. They should measure NO MORE THAN 3" when finished. Once the cuff is attached, the seam needs to be
finished correctly and topstitched down
Don’t leave overlocking ends unfinished. Finish ends by weaving
chain back in or by tying off. (Don’t just cut!)
Do apply binding with standard straight stitch and make sure it is
securely attached.
Don’t use hand sewing.

Rules for Fairy Conduct
1) Fairies will treat all with respect. Fairies will not make any inappropriate
comments towards anyone and will contact a member of the admin
team as a matter of urgency if they feel someone isn’t adhering to this
rule. Fairies will not refer to one child’s medical condition as less/more
important than another. Fairies will not consciously belittle other
members of the group or patronise them in any way.
2) Fairies must use correct sewing supplies and must not use any other
unauthorised items. Fairies must have relevant supplies before
claiming an order.
3) Fairies can volunteer to complete five parent orders per calendar
month only two lines of a hospital order in the first 24 hours from
release. Fairies can make as many items as they wish for stock but
should concentrate on garments which have less than 5 items in stock.
4) Fairies will ensure that all of their orders are posted onto the relevant
recipients within the designated timeframes. If circumstances change
and fairies can no longer fulfil an order that they have volunteered to
complete they will contact a member of the admin team with two
week’s notice before due date.
5) Before sending out any garments, fairies will check for any potential
hazards such as pins and loose threads etc. Fairies accept any liability
for incidents arising from garments they have constructed which do not
abide by the rules.
6) If fairies post photographs of the garments they make online, they will
ensure that the photograph compliments the garments they have
made. No clutter in the background, no personal effects, no pets, no
children, no advertising should be included.
7) If any animals are present during the creation of garments, the
garments need to be rewashed before sending out because parents
and children may be allergic.
8) If the fairy or a household member of the fairy is unwell, sewing should
be avoided to prevent contamination.
9) Fairies should never offer a service that the WPF cannot provide.
Fairies should understand that we provide garments from premature
baby size up to age 16. If fairies are approached and asked to
construct a garment out of this remit, they will state that WPF do not
offer this service.
10) Fairies cannot use PF Facebook pages/groups to sell or promote their
businesses unless approved by admin.
11) Any fabric sent to fairies for orders remains the property of PF and
should be returned to admin in the event of a fairy being unable to

complete the order. The postage cost will be the responsibility of the
fairy
12) Fairies should not use any photographs belonging to WPF without
consent from admins.
13) Fairies should regularly check this document for changes made.
