The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Kigali and Norwegian Energy Partners take the pride in hosting the Rwanda-Norway Renewable Energy Forum in Kigali on the 15th of September. We extend our great appreciation to Rwanda Ministry of Infrastructure, the Rwanda Development Board and the EPD for their support and active involvement in making this event possible.
This folder provides a brief overview of the capabilities of the 12 visiting Norwegian energy companies as well as presentations of government representatives and key resource people from Norwegian financing institutions. We are proud to visit Rwanda with such a big energy delegation for the first time, although energy cooperation has been ongoing with Rwanda for a few years already. The Scatec Solar operated Agahozo-Shalom Youth Village (ASYV) plant in Rwanda was the first large-scale solar plant to be constructed in Eastern Africa. The plant represents almost 10 percent of the total capacity for electricity generation in Rwanda.
Our ambitions for the forum is to further strengthen the bilateral energy cooperation, to identify project where the local industry can work together with Norwegian companies and provide an environment where affordable electricity can be produced to achieve better quality of life, increased employment and wealth for Rwanda.
Welcome to the Rwanda-Norway Renewable Energy Forum!
Welcomeby Ambassador Susan Eckey, The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Kigaliand Gulbrand Wangen, Norwegian Energy Partners,Director Midstream, Africa, Brazil and India
