Study in an intensive English language program and gain admission into Canada’s leading career universityThe Ryerson ESL Foundation Program at the Real Institute is designed for students who are academically qualified to apply for admission to a Ryerson University undergraduate degree program, but do not meet the minimum English proficiency requirements. The program offers intensive English language and academic skills instruction combined with undergraduate course work. Students who successfully complete the Ryerson ESL Foundation Program are admitted to Ryerson degree programs with at least one undergraduate course credit and a strong foundation for academic success.

* Some Ryerson undergraduate programs require a communication/writing test. The ESL Foundation Program will prepare you to write these tests.

Admission requirementsTo be eligible for the ESL Foundation Program, you must be academically qualified and competitive for admission to the undergraduate degree you wish to pursue. You will be offered placement in the ESL Foundation Program based on your academic qualifications, subject to competition. Upon successful completion of the ESL Foundation Program, you will enroll in your selected degree program.

When to applyIn order to receive guaranteed consideration of your application, you must apply with complete documentation no later than June 1.

How to applyYou can apply to the ESL Foundation Program in three easy steps: submit your application, submit required documents and check your application status. For full details, please visit ryerson.ca/admissions/undergraduate/apply.

CostThe cost of the ESL Foundation Program ranges from $15,600 CAD to $39,000 CAD, and includes up to three semesters of full-time study and up to three university-level degree credit courses. Textbooks, course-related materials, specialized ESL Foundation Program services, airport pick-up, academic and career advising, peer mentorship, a comprehensive health insurance package and cultural immersion events are also included. Tours and eventsCampus toursLet us show you our campus! Led by current students, tours are available Monday to Friday:

- Academic year (September to April): at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.- Summer (May to August): at 10 a.m.

Tours are approximately one hour and 30 minutes to two hours in length and are not available during holidays and university closures.
