To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the creation of the winery, you have the opportunity to try three remarkable wines from the site that was the founding vineyard for Colgin- the “Herb Lamb”. This North facing site on the Howell Mountain was crafted by Colgin from 1992 until 2007. Production

was always very limited and Robert Parker called Herb Lamb “quintessential examples of Cabernet Sauvignons that marry power with elegance - they float like a butterfly, but sting like a bee”. Colgin

will also have three vintages from the site where the winery is located, the dramatic “IX Estate” which critic Robert Parker considers “as close to a viticultural nirvana as I have ever seen.”

“Comando G” was originally a Japanese Cartoon from the 1980’s, where some kids gained super hero powers and fought evil. Founders Daniel Landi and Fernando Garcia met back in university where they pledged their mission to produce the best Grenache in the world. Wine Advocate’s Luis Gutierrez calls

it “one of the most exciting projects; the young winery was only founded in 2008 and here “Comando G” stands for “Comando Garnacha”. The two’s endeavour is to constantly source the best fruit from ancient vines in the Sierra de Gredos (Castilla Léon). With very limited production their wines are

notoriously hard to obtain and demand top dollars. Throughout the master class Daniel and Fernando will showcase the different vineyards across 3 valleys with varying soil, altitude and climatology which

clearly is reflected in their wines. As a very special treat you also get to enjoy their almost “extinct” 2012 El Tamboril white which is sourced from a 1230m altitude single vineyard!

An aerospace engineer by training, Jeb Dunnuck grew up on a farm in rural Indiana where whole milk was the beverage of choice and wine was hard to come by.

It wasn‘t until 1996, when living abroad and traveling through Europe, that he became interested in fine wine.

Moving to upstate New York in 1999 to work for Lockheed Martin, and later to Colorado in 2001 to work for Ball Aerospace, he traveled extensively throughout the wine regions of Europe and the United States, where he quickly developed a passion for the wines of the Rhône valley and the Rhone Ranger Movement in California and Washington. To gain a better under-standing of the business side of the wine industry, he took a temporary wine retail position in 2006.

Jeb launched the «The Rhône Report» publication and website in 2008 and began releasing a quarterly newsletter reviewing Rhône variety wines from around the world. Completely independent and including coverage on wines from France, Spain, Australia, and both California and Washington in the United States, the publication continued to gain in popularity and subscri-bers, and by 2013, was read in over 24 counties and seen as one of the leading authorities on Rhône variety wines.

Delivered to Italy at age 11 by The Winds of War, onica Larner has lived most of her life in her adopted home. A Los Angeles native, her family moved to Rome for filming of the 1983 World War II TV mini-series thanks to her father, Director of Photography Stevan Larner

(Badlands, Roots, North and South and Caddyshack...).

Her father fell in love with wine as a film student in Paris and Monica grew up in a household that celebrated a deep appreciation for the culture of wine. Roads trips were to Napa and Sonoma and a good portion of the family kitchen was walled off to house her father‘s cellar, after her mother begrudgingly surrendered the pantry space.

After high school in both Italy and California, Monica earned her under- graduate and graduate degrees in journalism (an MA with a minor in Italian studies) from Boston University and New York University respectively. A committed student of the codes and ethics of good journalism, she went on to work for the Italian daily La Repubblica, followed by four years as a reporter in the Rome bureau of BusinessWeek (her bylines include an in-depth look at the Antinori wine dynasty). She spent two years as a staff writer with Italy Daily of the International Herald Tribune where she penned her first wine column.She moved to France following that as a freelance writer.

Given his vocation as a „wine writer“, one might expect Neal Martin to recall sepia-tinged memories in the family library, when his aristocratic fatherwould offer his eldest son a sip of Yquem or Latour.

Alas his childhood chalice was never filled with wine and in fact, until his mid-20‘s never drank fermented grape juice. Alcohol consisted of cheap cider and Sunday roasts accompanied by boxes of Liebfraumilch or for special occasions, the ubiquitous Matéus Rose, a tradition upheld today despite his best efforts.

He was born the eldest of four sons on 12th February 1971, an underrated vintage, and enjoyed an uneventful but enjoyable childhood in sunny, coastal Leigh-on-Sea in Essex, a place of mudflats, cockle sheds, tacky nightclubs and trenchant Conservatism.

He attended Westcliff High School for Boys, a grammar school that instilled traditional values of Conservatism and conservatism and kept their students segregated from the adjacent Girls‘ School in case they were deflowered with lascivious thoughts. Puberty brought acne and a passion for music that remains undimmed, as evinced by the antique vinyl twelve-inches stockpiled in his spare room. An erstwhile DJ with an eclectic but impeccable taste, he refuses to accede to middle age and maintains a burning desire for new music. In 1989 he left for Warwick University and spent two-years living in Coventry, a town devastated by new buildings after the Second World War. Inebriated days were whiled away drinking ruby port and Blue Bols, sometimes on the same evening and despite failing his first year, he graduated with a useless 2:1 degree in Management Science.

the translation of Oz Clarke‘s Wine Encyclopedia, Stephan started to write about wine daily for sueddeutsche.de, the online platform of the Süddeutsche Zeitung.

In 2008 Stephan became chief editor of the Swiss/German newsletter Weinwisser; four years later he took the same position at Vinum, whose 10 issues per year are published in Zurich/Switzerland but distributed also in Germany and Austria. Besides this he has contributed to The World of Fine Wine regularly since 2004.

Stephan is co-author of Wein spricht deutsch, a 720-page monster book on the wines of Germany, Austria, Alsace, Alto Adige and Switzerland that was edited by Stuart Pigott in 2007. In 2012, Stephan‘s book The Finest Wines of Germany came out in the UK and the US and was soon shortlisted as „Best international wine book of the year 2013“ by the Louis Roederer International Wine Writers‘ Award. The book was translated and published in Japan and China in 2013.

Stephan has a passion for Riesling, Port and Pinot Noir and all the people who craft serious and authentic wines, regardless of which grape variety or in which style they are made. Besides wine, Stephan loves music (especially jazz), good food and football (soccer). He lives with his family near Hamburg in Germany and joined the Robert Parker‘s Wine Advocate team in May 2014.

Circa 1980, I was an attorney in Philadelphia who became ob-sessed with wine in much the same way as that more famous attorney from Monkton: traveling extensively in France. French sommeliers in the early 1980s assured me that their fine meals could only be drunk with fine wine and they were quite correct. Madness quickly ensued. In no time at all, I was berating myself for actually spending $25 on a bottle of wine (some Mondavi Reserve vintage from the late ‚70s or early 80s), which was one of the first ever premium purchases I made. 1979 Mouton Rothschild, 1978 Arnoux Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots, 1970 Taylor‘s and Fonseca Portos and other similar wines quickly followed, circa 1980.By the end of the 1980s, I eventually started teaching wine courses, doing seminars and publishing articles in various publications. I later became the forum leader on the old Prodigy service. Its demise was the motivation for me to start my own website, what would now be called a blog. In internet terms, that was really ancient history--way back in 1995. It quickly evolved, had a professional side to it, generated a little income and got some nice reviews, being mentioned in publications ranging from the New York Times to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Business Week to Food & Wine. Pretty soon, all my spare time and vacation time seemed taken up by wine tastings, events and wine region travel. The problem was simple: there just wasn‘t enough time to do it the way I wanted to do it. In many respects it was a professional site, but it just wasn‘t complete and comprehensive.Modern history began in 2006 when I was asked by The Wine Advocate to cover Por-tugal (now including Port as well, as announced in December, 2014). Since then, my portfolio has evolved to include Greece, much of the Middle East (Israel, Lebanon) and others (Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Republic of Macedonia, Cyprus) and much of the East Coast, USA.Most recently, in November, 2014, I was inducted into the Confraria do Vinho do Porto, but there have been more than a few adventures along the way. No doubt, one hopes, there will be more.

Born in Xi’An and raised in Shanghai, China, Liwen started his career as a marketer in multinational companies. His first wine job was working for ASC, the biggest wine importer in China, from 2004. During his eight-year period with the company,

Liwen’s role ranged from marketing officer to a wine educator and writer. From 2009, Liwen has starred in the Chinese wine education video “Wine Connoisseur”, to bring the wine knowledge to audiences in a fun way. Today the series of his videos has more than one million viewers and is posted on China’s most popular video websites. In 2012, he worked as the Editor-in-Chief for WinePress magazine, one of the most influential wine magazines in China. In 2014, Liwen founded his own wine education school, and assumed the role of Brand Ambassador for Decanter Shanghai Fine Wine Encounter. In 2010, together with Chantal Chi, he wrote his first book, “Whys in Wine”, sharing the answers for the most common questions Chinese wine drinkers have.

At the beginning of 2014, his second book, “The Footprints in the Vineyards”, was launched in China.
