SCA afternoon gathering at Museo Mayahuel fun for allThe Sacramento Claims Association celebrated the Spring season with their second annual Spring Social at Tequila Museo Mayahuel Friday, May 27, 2016.The afternoon mixer featured sponsored tasting bottles of fine tequila, delectable appetizers, fine art and great people.Sponsors included: Haldeman Construction; PW Stephens Environmental; Regas Group; Servpro of Rancho Cordova; and Titan Environmental Solutions.SCA Social Committee Chair, Jason Kettlehut was pleased with the turn-out, and the overall quality of the event.“Everything went really well for this event,” he stated. “We so appreciate all our sponsors, and everyone who was able to come out for it.”

Sacramento Claims Association News Network • June 2016 3

In an attempt to keep with the title of this month’s President’s Message, I would like to start off with a quick THANK YOU! to everyone who attended the Mayahuel social event on Friday, May 20th. A fist-pumping “JOB WELL DONE” goes out Jason Kettlehut and his SCA Social Committee! More than 30

people showed up and had a great time reconnecting and strengthening relationships! The SCA enjoyed a widely successful golf tournament at the beginning of this month. This year’s theme, Rio/Brazil, proved to be every bit as flavorful as we could have hoped, with colorful carts and tee box setups! Despite the heat, it was a fun day for all. A huge THANK YOU! and CONGRATULATIONS to

2015-’16 SCA President Steve Moore, PE, CASpBarrish Pelham & Associates, Inc.

Mathieu Schwartz, our first-year SCA Golf Committee Chairman (and 2016 Vice President). Mathieu did an EXCELLENT job coordinating and executing this yearly fundraising event, especially for his first time out of the gate! As an added bonus for this year’s event, the SCA was pleased to partner with the Ronald McDonald House, providing again a quality charitable aspect to the tourney! Having Ronald McDonald, himself, at registration to greet folks and help collect contributions and donations added to the spectacle. It was great to see all of you out there for another fantastic event! Hopefully, all your birdie putts were “Short & Sweet!”Coming up: our next Education Seminar luncheon is scheduled for Thursday, July 14, 2016, at the Lions Gate Hotel. We are pleased to welcome the legal firm of Greve, Clifford, Wengel, & Paras to present another CE accredited course, “Hospitality & Premise Liability Claims”. Please make sure to mark your calendars for what’s sure to be another excellent presentation!I look forward to seeing you there.Respectfully,

Sacramento Claims Association News Network • June 2016 7Warm Temps Reflect Rio/Brazil Theme of the Day at Annual SCA Golf TournamentBy Bryan Harrison

— See SCA Golf Tournament, page 8

The Sacramento Claims Association held their annual golf tournament Friday, June 3, 2016 back at Lincoln Hills Golf Course, on the meandering Orchard Course. Known for extreme Summertime temps, the Lincoln area Northeast of Sacramento is graced with waterfalls and shade trees to help keep golfers from overheating.Though some of the nearly sold-out golf crowd bailed before the start, the vast majority who stuck it out had a grand time, celebrating the Rio/Brazil theme of the day.First year Golf Tourney Chair, Mathieu Schwartz, of Liberty Mutual Insurance, put a great team together to ensure that the high stan-dards set in previous years by perennial golf chair, Cata Doughri, were closely followed. Schwartz utilized her play-book brilliantly.2016 returning Eagle Sponsor, JM Envi-ronmental, celebrated the theme of the day in grand fashion. With DJ Anthony Avery blasting music from the crest of the hill at the 18th tee, and a splendiferous taco service and liquid libations, the folks from JM Environ-mental showed once again they know how to do it right.“I want to thank each and everyone of you for all your help, dedication, and follow through to make the SCA Golf Tournament a success,” stated Mathieu Schwartz. “This could not be done without all of you. Thank you so much,” he added, speaking to his committee, sponsors and all the players and participants. Addressing his committee directly he ex-pressed his gratitude further. “I think the event was a success,” he said. Our charity - the Ron-ald McDonald House - was well received, and the golfers and sponsors enjoyed themselves.”Many sponsors made this event possible. SCA thanks to everyone!
