Bike Boxes Curb extensions are installed at intersections or mid-blocks to shorten the crossing distance for people walking and increase their visibility to people driving. Curb Extensions Signal timing influences traffic delay, compliance, and safety to help improve environments for walking, bicycling and public transportation. Traffic Signal DOLORES HUERTA, QUINCY JONES, AND 28TH ST ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL NEIGHBORHOOD SAFETY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS Traffic safety improvements will be implemented in the neighborhoods surrounding Dolores Huerta, Quincy Jones / Synergy Charter Academy, and 28th Street Elementary Schools. This project will create a network of “neighborhood-friendly streets” to help improve the safety and comfort of students and families walking and bicycling to and from school. The benefits of the project seek to: The project is funded through a $4.3 million grant from the California Department of Transportation Active Transportation Program. Construction will begin in Spring 2017. Safe Routes to School Los Angeles (SRTS-LA) is a partnership of the Los Angeles Department of Transportation and the Los Angeles Unified School District. PROYECTO DEL MEJORAMIENTO DE SEGURIDAD DEL VECINDARIO DE LAS RUTAS SEGURAS A LA ESCUELA

MEJORAMIENTOS DE SEGURIDAD Mejoramientos para la seguridad del trafico seran implementados en los vecindarios que rodean las Escuelas Primarias Dolores Huerta, la Academia-Escuela Autonoma Synergy / Quincy Jones, y la Escuela de la Calle 28. Este proyecto creara una red de “calles amigables del vecindario”, la cual ayudara a mejorar, ambas la seguridad y comodidad de estudiantes y familias que caminan y montan bicicleta, yendo a, y viniendo de la escuela.

Los beneficios que este proyecto busca so los siguientes:

El proyecto es financiado por una subvencion de $4,3 millones, del Programa de Transporte Activo del Departamento del Tranporte de California. La construccion comenzara en la primavera del 2017.

Rutas Seguras a la Escuela, Los Angeles , es una asociacion del Departamento del Transporte de California, y el Distrito de Escuelas Unificado de Los Angeles.

Calmar el trafico en calles residencialesReducir la velocidad del trafico que atraviesa y gira en esas callesAumentar la visibilidad de personas caminando y en bibicletaReducir la distancia de cruce de peatones
