MN Suresh Dear Rotary Leaders, Myself and my wife Ann.Srimathi wish you and your family a merry Christmas and happy and prosperous New Year 2011. The ICGF on International Service “Samashti” very truly “BRIDGED CONTINENTS”. The event was ably organized by Rotary Southwest under the guidance of Rtn. Kiran Boal, Director, International Service and his committee. There was a impressive International presence in the ICGF. There were also good lecturers by expats on “their India experience”. The music fusion was enjoyed by all the participants. My congratulations to Rtn. Kiran Boal and his team as well as to the team of Rotary Bangalore South west, who managed the event. I had the opportunity of interacting with my colleague district governors from other from other districts, not only India but other countries also during the meeting at Rotary Institute at Bangkok, Thailand. It was a very interesting experience. Further, the International nite that are being organized by District 3190 was very much appreciated by one and all and there was a unanimous opinion that this was truly an innovative way “To bridge Continents”. Rtn. Y P Das, R I Director Elect, during his Interaction with me made a special mention on ICGF on International services where he was the Chief Guest. The Governor's official visit as planned is going on very well. During November, 14 G.O.V's were completed. With this, I have visited during the first half of the year, more than 75% the clubs officially. I have been received with warmth and affection in all the clubs. I thank all the Rotary Clubs. The CEO run prelude to Rotary I T Corridor Midnight Marathon was a very interesting event, my compliments to Rotary I T Corridor. The children Diabetic Awareness Walk organized by Rotary Bangalore deserves all the praise. Likewise Young Achievers Award function of Rotary Midtown and Bridge Group is a positive step in recognizing our youth, who excel in at such a young age. My compliments to all the Rotarians who have come forward to become Major Donors to the Rotary Foundation. I request all the Rotarians to register for our 34th District Conference “SAHASTA” with family, which will be held at Innovative Film City on 5th & 6th Feb 2011. Dear Rotary Leaders,

Myself and my wife Ann.Srimathi wish you and your family a merry Christmas and happy and prosperous New Year 2011.

The ICGF on International Service “Samashti” very truly “BRIDGED CONTINENTS”. The event was ably organized by Rotary Southwest under the guidance of Rtn. Kiran Boal, Director, International Service and his committee. There was a impressive International presence in the ICGF. There were also good lecturers by expats on “their India experience”. The music fusion was enjoyed by all the participants. My congratulations to Rtn. Kiran Boal and his team as well as to the team of Rotary Bangalore South west, who managed the event.

I had the opportunity of interacting with my colleague district governors from other from other districts, not only India but other countries also during the meeting at Rotary Institute at Bangkok, Thailand. It was a very interesting experience. Further, the International nite that are being organized by District 3190 was very much appreciated by one and all and there was a unanimous opinion that this was truly an innovative way “To bridge Continents”. Rtn. Y P Das, R I Director Elect, during his Interaction with me made a special mention on ICGF on International services where he was the Chief Guest.

The Governor's official visit as planned is going on very well. During November, 14 G.O.V's were completed. The CEO run prelude to Rotary I T Corridor Midnight Marathon was a very interesting event, my compliments to Rotary I T Corridor. his is the 5th Year of the Young Achiever Award Project and it has T

grown in spread & quality

The Culmination of the 3 months of activity was in warm and meticulously run function on 20th of November at Brigade MLR Hall at J P Nagar, where Awards were given for General, Sports and Special Mentions category.

The General Awards were given to : Pavitra Y S who runs a BPO for the disabled and Achala Paani, a person working for the Welfare of Dogs.

The Sports Awards were given to : Mr Rakesh Manpat, a National Level Shooter and to Mr Suresh Narredu, one of the best horse riders in the Country.

The special mentions were given to : Ms Ramya K Aithal and Mr Sharath M Gayakwad who both braved many odds to achieve their objectives in life.

The 10 member Jury comprising professionals from field of education, social work, fashion design, industry, finance, mass communication and sports Management followed strictly the criteria that have been set down for evaluation. The Process, through which the young

achievers tried to r e a l i z e t h e i r dreams, was given

as much weightage as the outcome. The ingredients of the process that the young achievers adopted could be generally described in a few words–passion, imagination, commitment, perseverance against all odds, & hard work.

The Chief Guest Mr Prakash Padukone a former Jury member & DG Suresh Manandi spoke appreciatively of the way the award was conducted over the months & the immense effect that this could have on the young.

District Interact Club Volley Ball Match– a Brief Report

organized the District Interact Club Volley Ball

Tournament on 12th Dec. 2010 at S r i n a g a r , Bangalore. The tournament had an over whelming response and totally 13 teams participated, of which 9 of them were from various district Interact clubs and the remaining four from local schools.

DG Rtn. Suresh M N, Dist. New Generations Dir., Col. R V Subramanyam were the chief guest for the inaugural function, organized by Rtn. Ravindranath, Chairman, District Interact Committee, a senior state volleyball player Mr. Rangappa conducted the matches.

The Mahi la Seva Samaja School won the finals and the runners up was Shri Jnanakshi Vidyaniketan, RR. Nagar. About 140 children participated in the tournament and everyone was served lunch.

DGN Rtn. Badri Prasad and AG Rtn. Vijayakumar presided over the prize distribution function.

The programme of TRF Seminar started with address by PDG Sen on TRF and talk on 'TRF –

Goals this year' by PDG Rajendra Rai. DG Suresh spoke about the 'Task ahead' to achieve the goals of TRF collection this year. PDG Dilip Salgaocar, in his speech, marshaled data garnered over several years and very convincingly explained the need to support the cause of donating liberally to TRF.

During the ICGF session, Expats from many different countries working in Bangalore were invited to participate in the ICGF. Their presence added to the international ambience of the event. Two of the prominent among them, Mrs. Beth Chapman, President Overseas Women's Club, Bangalore and Mr. Fritz

Van Peski, Director, Metro Cash and Carry gave delightful accounts of their experience in India. Both agreed that

their India experience is unlike any other country and were certain that India can reach astounding heights in the years to come.

Two Indians who have achieved international acclaim, Dr. Padmashree and Dr. Kranti Hiremath were honoured for their achievements with a citation.

provide safe drinking water in South Asia were honoured with a citation.

RI Director Elect and PDG Yesh Pal Das who was the keynote speaker for the day, elaborated on “The Inter-nationality of Rotary” & “How Cor-

porate can support the Rotary”. He cited the huge donations made by Bill Gates and Mrs. Rajeshwari Birla as examples of corporate philanthropy coming in the aid of an international project like Pulse

Polio. He emphasized that Rotary is the best organization geared up to channelise the noble intentions of corporates under their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) charter.

DG Suresh provided details of the various projects being implemented during the current Rotary year to Bridge

continents and Build Communities.

International Fellowships on Music and Chess were launched during the occasion.

A gala fashion-show from 50 international students of 20 different countries was one of the highlights of the evening.

A fabulous fusion music session by the group 'World Music Center' topped off a colourful, vibrant evening rich with international compositions. The music flowing out of the musicians' artistry blended the very best of the east and west into a confluence of mesmerizing beats. The longing of the audience for more could not be met due to constraint of time

The food and fellowship outside, reflected the highest traditions of hospitality and fine quality that Rotary Bangalore Southwest is famous for.

TRF Seminar & ICGF - International Service

I accompanied the District Governor during his visit to Bangkok. On the way we visited Cambodia. I had the special privilege of visiting the Indian Temples in Cambodia. It was a very interesting experience and I could compare the Cambodian temples to our Karnataka temples and frame a comparative study. I thank the Rotary for providing me such an opportunity.I had the opportunity to interact with Ann. Jamie, wife of R I Vice President Thomas M. Thorfinnson and requested her to accompany him during his visit to Bangalore.During the ICGF on international service I could interact with a number of expats and share my views with them. This again is a memorable experience.Yours in Rotary,

An E-club by its unique nature is a Rotary Club in cyberspace with Rotarians from all over the world. Meetings are held via the internet. It will be 3190 based for operational & participation purposes.

An E-club will have the same rules and regulations as the any other Rotary club and will follow the Standard Club Constitution of RI and the recommended Bylaws.

An E-Club is a good option for those who find it difficult to attend Rotary meetings physically, but yet wish to be linked to the world of Rotary in Spirit of Fellowship and Service. A person cannot be a member of two Rotary clubs at the same time. Annual dues will be Rs. 8000 p. a.

If you are aware of any persons in your community who fit the qualifications of joining a Rotary club, pl. put them in contact with:

Kalaangana is a cultural festival in art, music and dance for special needs children organized every November by Information & Resource Center (IRC), a unit of Sri Sringeri Sharada Peetam, with Rotary Bangalore West and ASHA. Kalaangana is one unique platform which provides talented special children an opportunity to showcase their talent.

Children with autism, learning disability, mental retardation, cerebral palsy and multiple developmental disabilities, between the ages of 5 and 18 years and from various integrated and

special schools, took part in this three day event. They competed with each other in painting, singing, instrumental music and dancing in the form of solo and group performances.

Kalaangana is a cultural festival in art, music and dance for special needs children organized every November by Information & Resource Center (IRC), a unit of Sri Sringeri Sharada Peetam, with Rotary Bangalore West and ASHA. Kalaangana is one unique platform which provides talented special children an opportunity to showcase their talent.

Children with autism, learning disability, mental retardation, cerebral palsy and multiple developmental disabilities, between the ages of 5 and 18 years and from various integrated and

special schools, took part in this three day event. They competed with each other in painting, singing, instrumental music and dancing in the form of solo and group performances.

The ICGF on International Service “Samashti” very truly “BRIDGED CONTINENTS”. The event was ably organized by Rotary Southwest under the guidance of Rtn. Kiran Boal, Director, International Service and his committee. There was a impressive International presence in the ICGF. There were also good lecturers by expats on “their India experience”. The music fusion was enjoyed by all the participants. My congratulations to Rtn. Kiran Boal and his team as well as to the team of Rotary Bangalore South west, who managed the event.

I had the opportunity of interacting with my colleague district governors from other from other districts, not only India but other countries also during the meeting at Rotary Institute at Bangkok, Thailand. It was a very interesting experience. Further, the International nite that are being organized by District 3190 was very much appreciated by one and all and there was a unanimous opinion that this was truly an innovative way “To bridge Continents”. Rtn. Y P Das, R I Director Elect, during his Interaction with me made a special mention on ICGF on International services where he was the Chief Guest.

The Governor's official visit as planned is going on very well. During November, 14 G.O.V's were completed. With this, I have visited during the first half of the year, more than 75% the clubs officially. I have been received with warmth and affection in all the clubs. I thank all the Rotary Clubs.

The CEO run prelude to Rotary I T Corridor Midnight Marathon was a very interesting event, my compliments to Rotary I T Corridor. The children Diabetic Awareness Walk organized by Rotary Bangalore deserves all the praise. Likewise Young Achievers Award function of Rotary Midtown and Bridge Group is a positive step in recognizing our youth, who excel in at such a young age.

My compliments to all the Rotarians who have come forward to become Major Donors to the Rotary Foundation.

I request all the Rotarians to register for our 34th District Conference “SAHASTA” with family, which will be held at Innovative Film City on 5th & 6th Feb 2011.

The Culmination of the 3 months of activity was in warm and meticulously run function on 20th of November at Brigade MLR Hall at J P Nagar, where Awards were given for General, Sports and Special Mentions category.

The General Awards were given to : Pavitra Y S who runs a BPO for the disabled and Achala Paani, a person working for the Welfare of Dogs.

The Sports Awards were given to : Mr Rakesh Manpat, a National Level Shooter and to Mr Suresh Narredu, one of the best horse riders in the Country.

The special mentions were given to : Ms Ramya K Aithal and Mr Sharath M Gayakwad who both braved many odds to achieve their objectives in life.

The 10 member Jury comprising professionals from field of education, social work, fashion design, industry, finance, mass communication and sports Management followed strictly the criteria that have been set down for evaluation. The Process, through which the young

as much weightage as the outcome. The ingredients of the process that the young achievers adopted could be generally described in a few words–passion, imagination, commitment, perseverance against all odds, & hard work.

The Chief Guest Mr Prakash Padukone a former Jury member & DG Suresh Manandi spoke appreciatively of the way the award was conducted over the months & the immense effect that this could have on the young.

District Interact Club Volley Ball Match– a Brief Report

organized the District Interact Club Volley Ball

Tournament on 12th Dec. 2010 at S r i n a g a r , Bangalore. The tournament had an over whelming response and totally 13 teams participated, of which 9 of them were from various district Interact clubs and the remaining four from local schools.

DG Rtn. Suresh M N, Dist. New Generations Dir., Col. R V Subramanyam were the chief guest for the inaugural function, organized by Rtn. Ravindranath, Chairman, District Interact Committee, a senior state volleyball player Mr. Rangappa conducted the matches.

The Mahi la Seva Samaja School won the finals and the runners up was Shri Jnanakshi Vidyaniketan, RR. Nagar. About 140 children participated in the tournament and everyone was served lunch.

DGN Rtn. Badri Prasad and AG Rtn. Vijayakumar presided over the prize distribution function.
