———CALENDAR OF THE WEEK———

Dear Parishioners and Visitors,

Many of you may remember that I had men-
tioned in the bulletin that my cousin, David Schiltz, as
recently ordained to the permanent Diaconate in the
Diocese of Syracuse. His assignment is the parishes
of St. Matthew’s in East Syracuse, and St. Mary’s in
Minoa, NY, serving with Fr. Sean Patrick O’Brien.
Dave is also a CYO basketball coach in his parish and
is well loved and respected by the youth of his parish,
and though it has been a long road, I have enjoy
watching him prepare for service to the Church as a
Deacon.
So, before he gets too busy, I have invited him
to OLGC and St. Ambrose to preach this weekend.
Please join me in welcoming him to our parishes. By
way of a short biographical introduction, Dave’s first
career was in the US Airforce for many years. He is
unmarried and is a native of Bridgeport, NY. He has
been working full time at St. Matthew’s Church for
several years now with a variety of responsibilities
from maintenance to youth ministry to pastoral care. I
look forward to being with Deacon Dave this weekend
and hearing him open the Word to us.
God bless,
Fr. Michael

Our Sunday Bulletin is the primary way we communicate
with our parish members. Through arrangement with Li-
turgical Publications, the parish does not pay for the bulle-
tin printing, which saves us thousands of dollars each year.
Our bulletin is supported through the generosity of the ad-
vertisers, many of whom are our own parish members or
members of the local community. We urge you to support
our advertisers with your patronage. Tell the business own-
er that you appreciate their support of our parish though
their advertising in our bulletin.

A FAMILY PERSPECTIVE from
the Office of Family Life Education (A
Hope Appeal Agency)
In today’s gospel, Phillip worried about
“enough food” for the crowd. What is ENOUGH? When
does our ENOUGH deprive another family of their fair
share? Jesus performed today’s miracle because one child
was willing to share and risk living with less. Can your
family live more simply so that other families can simple
live?
