As the need for assistance becomes greater during our summer months, we encourage you to continue to provide meals and we would welcome new participation. If you are able to make extra when preparing your dinners, there are containers in the History Room in which to place a meal and provide dinner for someone in need.

Dear parishioners of Saint Anselm - As seen in this weekend’s bulletin, and per the new Archbishop, I have been named the seventh pastor of Saint Anselm Parish. I am incredibly happy this day has finally arrived. I am working with our parish staff to set an agreeable date for an official installation Mass in the Fall. Right now, the plan is that Bishop Fitzgerald, an auxiliary bishop of Philadelphia, will celebrate the Installation Mass here. After the Mass, depending on what the city permits regarding crowd size and social distancing, we will have a social. Please know of my appreciation for all the kind notes on Facebook and in my email. I am happy to serve here in Parkwood, and hope to do so, with the Archbishop’s goodness, for many years here!
Secondly, we wish Frs. Mekonnen and Dalin well. As I stated this past weekend at all our Masses, we will wait to have a goodbye in the Fall. We pray that they will be blessed in their new ministries and parishes which they will begin on July 8th. Stay tuned for details in the late summer about a formal event for each. Lastly, please welcome with open arms our new senior priest, Father John Large. As I said, Father has been, these past years, pastor at Saint Paul’s Parish in South Philly (Italian Market neighborhood). He is happy to come and serve here, and I am happy he is going to help me serve all of you! He will be moving in around July 8th. You will be able to meet him the following weekend at Mass. We will have a “Meet and Greet” in the fall. Thanks again for all you do for us and pray God we will see each other soon in church! God bless you all!
