CHÚA NHẬT TUẦN 23 TN – B Mc 7,31-37 XIN CHÚA CHỮA LÀNH
“Ông ấy làm việc gì cũng tốt đẹp cả: ông làm cho kẻ điếc nghe được, và kẻ câm nói được.” (Mc 7,37) Suy niệm: Chúa Giê-su có nhiều cách thế chữa bệnh, Ngài có thể chỉ cần nói một tiếng là người câm điếc được khỏi nhưng ở đây Chúa lại kéo riêng anh ta ra khỏi đám đông, đặt ngón tay vào lỗ tai anh, nhổ nước miếng bôi vào lưỡi anh và ngước mắt lên trời nói: “Ép-pha-tha”- “hãy mở ra”. Tại sao Chúa lại dùng nhiều công đoạn nhiêu khê đến thế? Phải chăng qua cử chỉ đụng chạm tới anh, Chúa muốn bày tỏ sự quan tâm hiền dịu của tình yêu thương, và qua đó thực thi quyền năng chữa lành? Qua việc kéo anh ra khỏi đám đông, phải chăng Chúa muốn anh từ nay ra khỏi cái tôi hẹp hòi và mở lòng ra với Chúa, trong mối tương quan thân tình? Mời Bạn: Chúa ban cho bạn nhiều ân huệ và khả năng để bạn phát huy mà phục vụ tha nhân và làm vinh danh Chúa. Nhưng nếu bạn đóng cửa tâm hồn và sử dụng những món quà Chúa ban một cách ích kỷ hoặc sai trái, thì bạn giống như người câm điếc đang đóng kín lại với chính mình. Mời bạn cầu xin Chúa mở tai bạn ra để nghe tiếng Chúa, mở miệng bạn ra để nói Lời của Chúa; có như thế, những mảng tối đời bạn được trở nên tươi sáng, và nhờ đó, bạn mở lòng ra với Chúa và với tha nhân. Chia sẻ: Cần đánh thức những tiềm năng và những ân huệ nào Chúa ban để bạn phục vụ cách hữu hiệu hơn? Sống Lời Chúa: Cầu nguyện với Lời Chúa để nội tâm hóa chính mình, hầu biến đổi nên giống Chúa hơn. Cầu nguyện: Lạy Chúa, xin mở tai con, mở miệng con, mở mắt con và mở lòng con để nhận ra tình thương của Chúa và thực thi tình thương đó cho những người xung quanh con. Amen.

Objective & Goal
The objective of the events is to create an
opportunity for the teens to approach the members of the program in a casual setting. It is where they can bring questions or concerns about the program and become more familiar with those who are involved
with the Youth Ministry Program.
Our goal is to provide the teens a foundation of practi-cal skills for the leadership roles.
Members
We had a total of 21 members attending the Social Evening and 16 attended the Workshop
Day (both numbers
included core team
members, current youth leadership members, and
aspiring members).
The youths are not just the church of tomorrow, they are the church of today and can make a major impact NOW!
Activities and/or Accomplishments
Among those practical skills that are shared
with them are the abili-ties to lead a communal
prayer, a large group game, and facilitate
small group discussions.
Purpose of the Event The purpose of the events is to provide an
opportunity for the teens that have already been con-firmed to be more involved in the Parish by participat-
ing in the youth leadership team, which is created by the Youth Ministry Program.

Most Reverend Bishop Thomas Thanh Thai Nguyen Celebrates Mass for St. Barbara Students
St. Barbara Catholic School faculty, students and families were honored to attend the first Mass of the school year celebrated by the Most Reverend Bishop Thomas Thanh Thai Nguyen. His homily focused on taking time each day to pray, as simple as spending 2 minutes a day with God. After Mass, His Excellency greeted faculty and students. Later, he took time to visit the school and to speak with 8th grad-ers. His Excellency has been most gracious in giving his time in support of St. Barbara Catholic School. In April, he also attended the 2018 Giving Gala.

commitment of accepting certain religious and
spiritual responsibilities for the child by both
parents and godparents. The role of the parish
staff is to help assist you in making these commit-
ments.
