Light in the Darkness: Vigil for Immigrant Families is a program of the Campaign for Hospitality. To learn more, please visit: campaignforhospitality.org/light.

In every Catholic church, a candle perpetually burns near the tabernacle, a reminder of the presence of the Body of Christ. As members of the the Body of Christ, we join in this ancient tradition as we keep vigil with immigrant families—those separated at our southern border, over continents by forced migration, or torn apart by deportation. Symbolized by the candle burning in the sanctuary, nestled in with the shepherds, our parish community continues to keep watch and pray. May we, the Body of Christ, be a light in the darkness. Donations accepted now through December 3rd!https://helena.igivecatholic.org/organizations/st-francis-xavier-parish-missoula

The Stained Glass Window Restoration Project began in 2012 and seven years later we are nearing completion. With your donation we will be well on our way to completing our goal of completely restoring all the stained glass, building new frames, and installing brand new storm windows. These historic windows, beautifully crafted over 125 years ago, were initially paid for by generous parishioners. We call upon our parishioners once again to help lovingly restore these works of art so that they may be enjoyed for generations to come.

If you would prefer to have us process your gift please stop by or contact our bookkeeper Katy McKinnon 541.6037 who would be happy to assist you!

Thank you for your generosity.

Happening in the Community

Planning a Baptism? We are thrilled to be blessed with so many families wishing to have their young ones brought into the church through the Sacrament of Baptism. Please note that the Diocese of Helena requires that those wishing to have infants receive the Sacrament must first attend one of our baptism classes. Additionally, as it is appropriate to welcome your child in to our community during mass, St. Francis Xavier designates certain weekends each month in which to do so, with the exception of the seasons of Advent and Lent when no baptisms are scheduled. We strongly encourage you to consult with Autumn Schwenk, our parish secretary, at 542.0321 as to which dates are available prior to inviting out of town guests to share this special event with you. Thank you for adherence to this policy and for planning your child’s baptism with us!
