SAINT JAMES CATHOLIC SCHOOL PARISH LIFE
Jesus said to them again, ‘Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.’ When He had said this, He breathed on them and said to them, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiv-en them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.’ John 20:21-23 Reflection. Come Holy Spirit, Creator of all things…You who breathed over the waters at the dawn of creation and bought forth all living beings…You who filled the Apostles when the Risen Lord breathed on them on the first Easter night, giving them the power to restore life to those dead in sin…You who, on the last day, will breathe again on all the dead and raise them from the dead---Come and breathe on our world again, immersed as it is in the Culture of Death! Come, O Lord and Giver of Life! Defeat the works of death in our midst, that abortion may no longer stain our land. We worship You, O Holy Spirit, and we rejoice in You. Make us worthy apostles of life. The World Prayer for Life Prayer. Each day the Venerable Servant of God, Archbishop Sheen, requests prayer warriors to pray the fol-lowing prayer for a child in danger of being aborted. “Jesus, Mary, Joseph, I love you very much. I beg you to spare the life of the unborn child. Ed Cecil, Respect Life Committee

The parish office is working diligently to clean up the

STEWARDSHIP
+VOCATION VIEW+
The Lord will come when we least expect him. Is he
knocking now, asking us to serve as a priest or
religious? ( Luke 12:49-53)
The Most Holy Trinity
First Reading: Exodus 34:4b-6, 8-9
Second Reading: 2 Corinthians 13:11-13
Gospel: John 3:16-18
"There are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same
Spirit; there are different forms of service but the same
Lord; there are different works but the same God who
produces all of them in everyone. To each individual the
manifestation of the Spirit is given for some benefit."
1 Corinthians 12:4-7
Each of us has been given unique talents to share with
others. Time and treasure are similar for everyone -- they
only differ in amounts. The gifts of our talents are the most
personal aspect of our stewardship.
Pentecost Sunday
First Reading: Acts 2:1-11
Second Reading: 1 Corinthians 12:3b-7, 12-13
Gospel: John 20:19-23
The feast of Pentecost reminds us that the work of
the Holy Spirit guides and protects the Church
and enables her to carry out her mission. The gift
of the Holy Spirit gives us, as disciples, the grace
and strength to move forward and live out our
call of faith.
PARISH DISCERNMENT
Thank you to all parishioners who attended a listen-
ing session throughout the past month. Your feedback
and interest in the process has been so encouraging as
we have discerned where God is calling us to go.
This month, the Parish Pastoral Council will meet with
the consultant assisting with this process to review and
to consolidate all that surfaced during the listening
sessions. From this meeting a summary will be devel-
oped along with short-term and long-term goals. The
summary and goals will be shared with the entire parish
community so that we can all have an opportunity to see
what surfaced during the listening sessions and begin to
consider how we can assist with goals moving forward.
SPECIAL COLLECTION— CRUSADE FOR CHILDREN
Since 1955, the Archdiocese of Louisville has contribut-ed more than $7 million dollars to the Crusade for Chil-dren. This community-wide effort changes the lives of children with special needs. Many families in the Arch-diocese have benefited directly from the Crusade as have our schools, which have received grants to assist students with diverse learning needs. This weekend our parish will be collecting donations for the Crusade. Those who wish to donate may bring contributions to Mass or to the parish office. If giving by check, please make your check payable to the parish and put the word “Crusade” in the memo line. Thank you for your generosity.

The workshop cost is $30 and includes all materials and meals. Lodging is also available at the retreat center for $30/night. Learn more at owensborodiocese.org/bicmworkshop/.
