Welcome to Saint John’s
W e are blessed that you have joined us in our worship of Jesus
Christ. At Saint John’s we worship in the Anglican Tradition;
fostering a place where forgiveness, conversion and spiritual
renewal can evolve;
enabling Christian formation to help us grow that our life may
be
consecrated to God’s work. We pray that you have found us
faithful in
our witness of His Love and you will make Saint John’s your
spiritual
home.
Receiving Holy Communion
All visitors who have been baptized with water, in the name of
the Father,
Son, and Holy Spirit, and who have been admitted to Communion in
their
own church are welcome to share the Holy Eucharist. We are all
called to
repent of our sins and to approach the Holy Communion as an
expression
of the Real Presence of Jesus Christ. When you come forward to
receive
the Holy Body and the Precious Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ
please
approach the Altar Rail in prayer. Cross your right hand over
your left
that the sacred Host may be laid in the palm of your right hand.
When the
Chalice is offered help guide it (if necessary) to your lips.
When your
communion is complete, pause to give thanks before returning to
your
seat. If you are not receiving Communion today, you are most
welcome to
come to the Altar Rail for a blessing; simply cross your arms
over your
heart.
Ladies wearing lipstick, please remember to blot your lips
before coming forward
for Communion if you desire to receive directly from the
chalice. (If you generally
receive by intinction, of course, this is not necessary.) Thank
you!

If you make your communion by intinction (which is dipping the
Host in
Consecrated Wine), our Bishop asks that you retain the Host in
the palm
of your hand after receiving it and the priest, deacon or lay
minister will
touch it to the Wine and place it on your tongue.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, by the will of the
Father and the

Photos Today in Mitchell Hall Fr. Bob has offered his services
in creating a photo directory for our parish families. He will be
taking pictures in Mitchell Hall today after each liturgy. The 2019
directory will be available for any address and /or phone changes
that have taken place. We hope all will take advantage of this
opportunity!
Happening # 8 Happening #8, hosted by the Fort Worth diocese,
will be April 26-28 here at St. John’s. All 9th-12th graders are
welcome to attend. The weekend starts at 7pm (check in is
6:00-6:45) on Friday and ends with mass starting at 11:15 am on
Sunday. The closing ceremony and reception should conclude by 1:30
pm. The cost is $50.00 to attend. Forms can be found at
www.anglicanyouthministries.com under “events”. Registration is due
by April 21st. Email [email protected] with questions, registration
forms, and information about caritas.
Easter Sunday Baptisms We have the wonderful privilege of having
baptisms at both the 9:00 and 11:15 services. What a wonderful way
to celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord! We hope you will join
us!
Upcoming Office Closure The office will be closed and our sexton
out April 22-24. We ask that you not access the building if you do

FWPC Mother’s Day Outreach St. John’s Outreach will be
collecting small items for Fort Worth Pregnancy Center to fill
little gift bags for the moms that come their way. Ideas of SMALL
items include:
chapstick, nail polish, nail file, hand sanitizer, candy, gum,
et cetera!
From now until Sunday, May 5th, you can leave your donations in
the containers at the Outreach Table. If you would rather make a
monetary contribution, make your check payable to St. John’s and
write Mom’s Bags on the memo line. We will shop for you! For more

Easter Reception and Egg Hunt Join us TODAY for our annual
Easter Reception and Egg Hunt! The Easter Reception will take place
in Mitchell Hall following the 9:00 a.m. mass. Those participating
in the Easter Egg Hunt will meet at 10:30 a.m. in the Guild Parlor
for a group picture and instructions for the hunt.

Visitor’s Card Help us get to know you! Please fill out a
Visitor’s Card and place it in the Offering Plate.
Hospitality “Coffee Hour” is held every Sunday morning from
10:15-11:00 in the Parish Hall. Stop by after the 9:00 service or
before the 11:15 for the fellowship. Visitors are especially
welcome!
Nursery Nursery for infants through age 5 is located at the east
end of the Education wing. Ask an usher for directions. The nursery
is open from 8:50 -12:30.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and
Teen & Adult Catechesis
Proper catechesis for kids preschool thru senior high is held
Sept-May following the 9:00 am mass. Adult classes are offered at
the same time in the Guild Parlor.
Prayer Ministry Prayer cards are located in each pew for your
prayer needs. To access the parish prayer chain, email the office@

Counseling Office Fr. Bob Bosworth, Ph.D. is on staff as
Clinical Pastoral Counselor for
individual, marriage, and family counseling. Hours are Tues and
Fri 10am-5pm and Sat 10am-2pm. Appointment required. Call

Low-Gluten Hosts St. John’s offers low-gluten (less than 0.01%)
communion wafers on request. If you have a gluten intolerance issue
please speak with one of the clergy.
Joining St. John’s? Just fill out the New Member Registration
Form found on the wall rack in the Narthex or in the Office. If you
are Anglican or Episcopalian we will process a letter of transfer
for you. If you are from another denomination, you will be
registered as a baptized communicant and we’ll let you know when
the next Inquirers Class begins. If you are not yet baptized,

Bishop’s Confirmation Visit & Church Picnic May 5 Bishop
William Wantland will be visiting St. John’s on Sunday, May 5.
Services will be held at 8:00 and 10:00 only, with Confirmation
celebrated at the 10:00 mass, followed by our annual Parish Picnic
(see insert for details). All those desiring to be confirmed on May
5th will need to fill out and return a Confirmation form by Tues,
April 30th.
CGS Level I Formation Course, June 3-7 St. Peter and St. Paul
will be sponsoring a Level I Part I Formation Course in the
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd here at St. John’s June 3-7. Cost
is $150 for those inside our Diocese and $320 for those outside the
Diocese. (Those who have already taken the course are welcome to
attend at not cost.) For those interested in attending, send
registration form and a $50 non-refundable deposit by May 1 to St.
Peter and St. Paul Anglican Church, c/o Cindy Paxton CGS, 3900
