Welcome to Saint John’s
W e are blessed that you have joined us in our worship of Jesus Christ.
At Saint John’s we worship in the Anglican Tradition; fostering a
place where forgiveness, conversion and spiritual renewal can evolve;
enabling Christian formation to help us grow that our life may be
consecrated to God’s work. We pray that you have found us faithful in our
witness of His Love and you will make Saint John’s your spiritual home.
Receiving Holy Communion
All visitors who have been baptized with water, in the name of the Father,
Son, and Holy Spirit, and who have been admitted to Communion in their
own church are welcome to share the Holy Eucharist. We are all called to
repent of our sins and to approach the Holy Communion as an expression
of the Real Presence of Jesus Christ. When you come forward to receive
the Holy Body and the Precious Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, please
approach the Altar Rail in prayer. Cross your right hand over your left that
the sacred Host may be laid in the palm of your right hand. When the
Chalice is offered, help guide it (if necessary) to your lips. When your
communion is complete, pause to give thanks before returning to your seat.
If you are not receiving Communion today, you are most welcome to come
to the Altar Rail for a blessing; simply cross your arms over your heart.
Ladies wearing lipstick, please remember to blot your lips before coming forward
for Communion if you desire to receive directly from the chalice. (If you generally
receive by intinction, of course, this is not necessary.) Thank you! — St. John’s

If you receive Holy Communion by Intinction
If you make your communion by intinction (which is dipping the Host in
Consecrated Wine), our Bishop asks that you retain the Host in the palm of
your hand after receiving it, and the priest, deacon or lay minister will
touch it to the Wine and place it on your tongue.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, by the will of the Father and the
work of the Holy Spirit Your death brought life to the world. By Your
Holy Body and Blood free me from all my sins and from every evil. Keep
me faithful to Your teaching, and never let me be parted from You. Amen.

Candlelight Christmas in Ryan Place, Dec. 1-2 The signs are up, and the decorating has begun in Ryan Place! This year’s Candlelight Christmas in Ryan Place will be held Dec. 1-2. St. John’s volunteers are needed for the following:
Sanctuary Tour Docents Tours of St. John’s will be held Sat, Dec. 1 12 noon - 9:00 pm Sun, Dec. 2 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm Training will be held in the Sanctuary today at 3:00.
Tea Room Desserts Cakes, pies, brownies, bars, and any other desserts not needing refrigeration or heating are needed for the AYM Tea Room. All donations can be drop off during office hours on Nov. 31st, or any time during tour hours on Dec 1-2.
Tea Room Help AYM youth and parents will once again be staffing the Tea Room. Those who would like to sign up for a 4-hour shift, please contact the Crums at 817-797-2605.
AYM Youth Rally Dec 8-9 The AYM Youth Rally for 6th-12th graders will be held at Camp Crucis on Dec. 8-9. Check in is from 8:30-9:30 Sat. morning. The weekend ends with mass at 11:15 Sun. morning. The cost is $35. For more information, visit www.anglicanyouthministries.com.
South Central Alliance of Churches Thanksgiving Basket Drive Ends Today Please remember that today is the last day to bring donations for the SCAC Thanksgiving Basket Drive. AYM will be assembling baskets today after they eat lunch at 1:00. There is a need for people to help deliver the baskets to SCAC on Monday at 12:00 noon. Please contact Gerald Gregory if you would like to volunteer. There is also a need to help deliver turkeys and food baskets to families’ cars at the Southside Church of Christ on Tuesday from 2-4. (2101 Hemphill Street Please use the back entrance.)
Lessons and Carols The Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols will be presented by St. John’s Chancel Choirs, Handbell Choir, and Children’s Choir on Sunday, Dec. 16th at 5:00 pm. This beautiful service was first held at Kings College, Cambridge on Christmas Eve 1918 and has become a traditional Christmas favorite in Anglican churches around the world. Childcare will be provided. Come, “Let us look forward to the yearly remembrance of His birth with hymns and songs of praise.”
Memorial Service for the Reverend William E. O’Connell A memorial service and celebration of life will be held for Fr. Bill O’Connell at St. John’s on Saturday, November 24 at 1pm. There will be a church reception for guests following the ceremony. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123. Funeral arrangements are through Greenwood Chapel, 3100 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, TX .

Nursery Nursery for infants through age 5 is located at the east end of the Education wing. Ask an usher for directions. The nursery is open from 8:50 -12:30.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and
Teen & Adult Catechesis
Proper catechesis for kids preschool thru senior high is held Sept-May following the 9:00 am mass. Adult classes are offered at the same time in the Guild Parlor.

Low-Gluten Hosts St. John’s offers low-gluten (less than 0.01%) communion wafers on request. If you have a gluten intolerance issue please speak with one of the clergy.

If you are Anglican or Episcopalian we will process a letter of transfer for you.
