Thank You for Your Generosity! God Bless You!
At a wedding rehearsal one Friday night, a harried bride made the observation that ‘today was the longest week of my life!” When time is short and preparations are many, every moment seems to fly by and take forever at the same time. What seemed at one time to be so far away is now suddenly upon us. And as much as we anticipate great events, they still have a way of catching us off guard as though we had never prepared. God never requires much time to transform our lives or save our souls. Every moment of grace we experience con-tains eternity within it. Packaged carefully in the constraints of time, a graced moment can make the difference between doubt and faith, sin and virtue, sinner and saint. It’s not because we are so easily transformed, but that grace is that ef-fective and efficient. There is an economy of salvation which allows for the slightest hint of faith—a mustard seed—
to bring us the joy of God’s love and forgiveness. Yes, there are only a few days until Christmas. But there is still time to let the spirit of Christmas renew and nourish our souls. Let something in this season of celebration—the prayers, the Mass, the decorations, the feeling of good will—move you one step closer to the Lord. Let this short week be the new beginning of a long, eternal life!

Saint Vincent de Paul: In today’s Gospel, we hear that Jesus will be named Emmanuel, which means “God is with us.” The mystery of the birth of Jesus is supremely a mystery of love. May each Christmas find us more and more like him: more humble, more holy, more happy and more full of God. Y our gifts to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul helped those who are poor and suffering to find Emmanuel and they also came to know that “God is with us.”
There is no second collection this week and next week.
Stewardship Note: Putting our complete trust in the Lord with-out expecting anything in return. Striving to put God first in all things and follow Him wherever He may lead us. As we prepare for the birth of our Lord, pray for the strength and courage to be a model of discipleship, just as Joseph was.

JANUARY CASH CALENDARS NOW AVAILABLE Please help to support your Basilica with the purchase of one or more January Cash Calendars. All profits benefit our parish obligations to the diocese. For $10 you receive 31 chances to win a daily cash prize of $25 to $500. You need not be present to win; winners will be notified by telephone or mail. Please see Pat Parslow, Dot Kasierski or Sr. Jeanne after Masses at the Basilica entrances to make your purchase.
OPŁATKI The Christmas wafers were first associated with the Nativity of Je-sus Christ, the Savior of the world and constitute an essential element of the Christmas Vigil Supper. This custom celebrated by millions of people is continually growing because it symbolizes the Bread of Life. Breaking the opłatek with our loved ones means sharing life, difficul-ties, joy, and peace throughout the year. An explanation of the ritual of the breaking of the oplatek is printed on the packet. A donation of $3.00 is appreciated.
GIVING TREE To all parishioners who graciously donated to our Angel Tree, we would like to sincerely Thank You for your generosity and kind-ness. You have made someone’s life a little bit happier and shown them that there is someone who cares. May God bless you and keep you for providing a brighter Christmas for those in need.

CHRISTMAS WISHES
When our first parents left the Garden of Eden, God did not leave them without hope. Their burden of guilt was heavy, but their Creator promised that he would help them
return to their lost paradise. His promise was fulfilled when Mary said her faithful: "Let it be done to me accord-ing to Your word." Thanks to her trust and faith, the world has met its Savior.
Dear parishioners, on this blessed occasion of Christmas, I extend to you heartfelt wishes for a Christmas filled with love and hope and strengthened by the faith that the newborn Son of God bestows on us.
Merry Christmas!

NOVENA TO INFANT JESUS On last Monday we have started a Novena to the Infant Jesus at the morning Mass. This novena is a tradition of 9 days of praying to the Infant Jesus for a particular intention and is very beneficial in our spir-itual development. The visual image in the sanctuary depicts 9 steps symbolizing the 9 days before Christmas Day. This helps us to concen-trate our preparation and a life of prayer for the upcoming birth of the Christ Child.

CZWARTA NIEDZIELA ADWENTU 22 grudnia 2019
Zbudziwszy się ze snu, Józef uczynił tak, jak mu polecił anioł Pański: wziął swoją Małżonkę do siebie. (Mt 1, 24)
W okresie od 24 do 27 grudnia, biuro parafialne będzie nieczynne.
THANK YOU A sincere thank you to Noah Boudreau and David Harelson for building the frame for the new manger to be used during the Christmas Season in our Basilica. Their dedicated time and talent to the church is greatly appreciated. Thank you also to Noah’s parents, Beth and Joey Boudreau for their assistance and support of this project.
Although it was a snowy week before Christmas, St. Joseph School still enjoyed a lot of holiday fe-stivities while preparing for their Annual Christ-mas Pageant. The week began with the Second and Fourth Grades students leading the Liturgy of the Word, Prayer of the Faithful, and Offertory on the Third Sunday of Advent. In addition, the church was treated to a beautiful rendition of the
Advent song, “A Candle is Burning.” Activities during the week included the Santa Shoppe sponsored by the H.S.A., writing letters to Santa, and creating beautiful holiday works of art. Students and teachers were also treated to a delicious turkey dinner courtesy of alumnus, Robert Bonczek. followed by ice cream sundaes sponsored by the St. Joseph Women’s Club. Much to the students’ and teachers’ delight, the Wo-men’s Club provided a variety of sweet toppings including caramel, hot fudge, whipped cream, sprinkles, and cherries. Finally, the school’s festivities culminated
with “Pajama Day” and a showing of the Netflix Movie, “Klaus.” It was certainly a fun week for all!

Dzięki Jej ufności i wierze świat poznał swego Zbawiciela. Z okazji Świąt Bożego Narodzenia składam najserdeczniejsze życzenia Błogosławionych Świąt, przepełnionych Miłością i Nadzieją, umocnionych Wiarą, jaką obdarza nas nowonaro-dzony Syn Boży.
