Prayer to Saint Kateri Tekakwitha St. Kateri Tekakwitha, favored child and Lily of the Mohawks, I come to seek

your intercession in my present need: (mention it). I admire the virtues which

adorned your soul: love of God and neighbor, humility, obedience, patience, purity

and the spirit of sacrifice. Help me to imitate your example in my state of life.

Through the goodness and mercy of God, Who has blessed you with so many

graces which led you to the true faith and to a high degree of holiness, pray to God

for me and help me.

Obtain for me a very fervent devotion to the Holy Eucharist so that I may love

Holy Mass as you did and receive Holy Communion as often as I can. Teach me

also to be devoted to my crucified Savior as you were, that I may cheerfully bear my daily crosses for

love of Him Who suffered so much for love of me. Most of all, I beg you to pray for me that I may

avoid sin, lead a holy life and save my soul. Amen.

SKT FAITH FORMATION NEWS Registration Information

If you have not already re-registered please, please go ahead and do so. We need to have a fairly accurate head count with which to make contingency plans dependent on instructions from ADNY about how to conduct the program for the coming year. Accurate head count also helps with ordering books and materials in proper quantity. New students of families already registered with the par-ish please contact Deacon John at 845-227-1710 X 3, or [email protected]. For all new students please submit a copy of the child’s Baptismal Certificate. If the child is older than first grade please also provide proof of any prior faith formation at other parishes. Families new to the parish please contact the parish office to register there prior to applying for FF classes.

Summer Office Hours The FF Office will close for the summer break as of July 16th. We will reopen for the new season on Monday, August 17th. During this break emails and messages will be checked and answered weekly. Please continue to register either by online system or dropping off paperwork to the parish office or drop-box; they will be processed during the break. We wish all our parish families a peaceful, restful and faithful summer season. May God bless each of us by His grace and mercy!

SIXTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME First Reading: Wisdom 12:13, 16‑19 This passage from the Book of Wisdom addresses itself to God, giving praise and thanksgiving for his mercy. Second Reading: Romans 8:26‑27 Paul indicates that since people are, in general, unaccus-tomed to the manner of praying, of speaking directly to God, the Holy Spirit will intercede for them. Gospel: Matthew 13:24‑43 According to Matthew, Jesus speaks of the “reign of God” in three parables: the man who soweth good seed, the mus-tard seed, and the yeast. In each parable, Jesus demon-strates that once the “reign of God” had been established, it grew and spread.

A FRESH PERSPECTIVE ON THE SUNDAY READINGS HIS WORD TODAY by Rev. William J. Reilly Sixteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time July 19, 2020 “The Spirit comes to the aid of our weakness, for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes with inexpressible groaning... But though you are master of might you judge with clemency and with much lenience you govern us... and you taught your people by these deeds that those who are just must be kind.” When we pause to pray, we are responding to the Spirit at work in us. Our bottom line should be to ask for the Spirit in our lives. How do I know that the Spirit resides in me? St. Paul tells us to look for the fruits of the Spirit. Clemency or mercy is the instrument that the Lord uses as He judges us. How fortunate we are that this is His tool. On our part, we manifest the presence of the Spirit, by kindness. No one is incapable of being unkind. It is a fruit by which to live and a gift we can always give. Consider one person to whom you can show kindness today. Then the word that is sown is at work in you.
