Why? Well, we enter the Church through the Sacrament of Bapsm and so this is a visual way of emphasizing that one common sacrament we all share. The beginning of the Rite of Bapsm has the dea- con of priest greet the family at the door of the church. At a funeral, we sprinkle holy water on the casket at the beginning of the Mass to remind every- one of the waters of bapsm. So, we’re in the process to see if we can locate a permanent and deliberate home for our Bapsmal Font where it can remain, where the oils can be per- manently kept near it, and where the emphasis on the Sacrament of Bapsm is visually presented. We can do this and are looking to relocate some pews at the main entrance of the church in order to open up a space large enough for the font and for good and easy access around it. This will involve mov- ing pews, redoing some ling and carpeng, and pur- chasing a worthy ambry for our oils. As me goes on, I’ll write and talk more about this. Let us pray to our Risen Lord who gives us eternal life and grace through our sacraments to bless our parish abundant- ly in this Easter Season. MUSINGS

We are a Stewardship Parish commied to giving our me, talent , and resources for others!

Some folks have been asking where my weekly ar&-

cle went….It hasn’t disappeared, but just took a bit of

a vaca&on. Truth is our bulle&n company only allows

us a large bulle&n (12 pages including adver&sing)

about once a month and we’ve been exceeding that

allowance too many &mes. So, we’ve need to cut

back for awhile on the larger bulle&ns. The parish

does not pay for the publica&on of the bulle&n. That

is why we have adver&sers. I do encourage you to

look at those ads and consider u&lizing those busi-

nesses.

Thanks to all who helped make our Holy Week and

Easter Sunday celebra&ons so beau&ful! It does take

a lot of effort to put together all the necessary minis-

tries.

You may no&ce that the Bap&smal Font has been

moved to the sanctuary of the Church from the side

aisle. The Season of Easter emphasizes the Sacra-

ments of Ini&a&on: Bap&sm, Confirma&on, and Eu-

charist. We moved the font to the sanctuary to em-

phasize the importance of that Sacrament. Behind

the font, you will see a table with the three jars of

Holy Oils: the Oil of Catechumens, the Oil of the Sick,

and the Sacred Chrism.

We have been keeping the oils in a cabinet in the

sacristy for years. We need to change that. The oils

should be in a cabinet in the church called an Ambry.

As you visit other churches, you will see many of

them have the oils in a glassed cabinet Ambry. You

might also no&ce that many churches have the Bap-

&smal Font at the entrance of the Church itself. Why?

Well, we enter the Church through the Sacrament of

Bap&sm and so this is a visual way of emphasizing

that one common sacrament we all share.

The beginning of the Rite of Bap&sm has the dea-

con of priest greet the family at the door of the

church. At a funeral, we sprinkle holy water on the

casket at the beginning of the Mass to remind every-

one of the waters of bap&sm.

So, we’re in the process to see if we can locate a

permanent and deliberate home for our Bap&smal

Font where it can remain, where the oils can be per-

manently kept near it, and where the emphasis on

the Sacrament of Bap&sm is visually presented.

We can do this and are looking to relocate some

pews at the main entrance of the church in order to

open up a space large enough for the font and for

good and easy access around it. This will involve mov-

ing pews, redoing some &ling and carpe&ng, and pur-

chasing a worthy ambry for our oils. As &me goes on,

I’ll write and talk more about this. Let us pray to our

Risen Lord who gives us eternal life and grace

through our sacraments to bless our parish abundant-

ly in this Easter Season.
