March 19, 2017 ~ The Third Sunday of Lent
Anointing of the Sick—Anyone facing surgery or dealing with a serious illness should contact the parish office or Fr. Kevin for the reception of this sacrament. Anointing before surgery can be done prior to or after Mass on the weekends. Please call the parish office to inform us if you are in need of this sacrament.
Reconciliation—Saturday at 4:15pm or by appointment. Communal penance services are also held twice yearly.
Sacrament of Marriage—Please contact Fr. Kevin at least six months in advance to insure ample time for planning, preparation, and scheduling your wedding.
Communion to the Sick and Homebound—If you or someone you know is ill, in the hospital, or homebound, please notify the parish office so a visit can be arranged. Fr. Kevin, one of our deacons, or an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist will be glad to bring Holy Communion.

Rosary Group—Meets on Thursday morning after the 9:00am Mass. Join us in body or spirit as we pray. Call Helen with your intentions: 770-871-6586.
Eucharistic Adoration—First Thursday of each month devotion will commence immediately after the 9:00am Mass and continue until Benediction at 12:00pm. Our Sacristan, Helen Martin can be reached at [email protected] for more information.
Membership—Registration forms may be found at the back of the church or by coming to the church office. Please complete the form and give it to a minister of hospitality or a deacon.
Bulletin Deadline—Announcements and notices for the bulletin must be submitted by 10:00am on Monday for the following
Sunday bulletin. They will run for two weeks. Email them to [email protected]. Announcements received after the deadline will need to be modified to run in the bulletin on subsequent weeks.
Request for Mass Intentions—In our Church tradition no better gift can be given our beloved departed than a Mass offered in their memory on the anniversary of their death, birth, or wedding anniversary. There are forms for scheduling Mass intentions in memory of the departed and special intentions for the living in the pamphlet racks in the administration building.
Stephen Ministry—Are you going through a difficult time? Stephen Ministers are members of the congregation here to help you. We listen, care, encourage and provide spiritual support to people facing a crisis or going through tough times. The care you receive is free, confidential and helpful. Continuing Conversion We continue our study on the saints and other important people in the faith on March 19. Our study is from Bishop Robert Barron's new series, The Pivotal Players. This Sunday we will continue with St. Thomas Aquinas. Over the next few weeks we will cover Bl. John Henry Newman and G.K. Chesterton. Please join us for this beautifully photographed video series. We hope you will consider joining us for this class which meets on Sunday at 9:45 am in the conference room. We would love to have everyone stay and bring their donuts. All are welcome. Nothing is required but an open heart.

per month at either the 830 AM Mass or the 11 AM Mass to watch

difficulty with obsessions and compulsions. This Mass is
also for all those who are impacted by the addiction of someone. Family members, friends,
and co-workers of addicts who suffer because of the disease are welcome to come and

chos de inmigrantes y si no tenemos documentos.
Los invitamos a todos a que participen y traigan sus preguntas y preocupaciones para
nuestros expertos.

Reflexiones para la Homilía
El agua es esencial para la vida. Durante toda esta Cuaresma, y hasta el momento de la Vigilia Pascual, con la bendición del agua y el rito bautismal, se pone mucho énfasis en el agua. El agua es la vida para todo ser viviente y es el símbolo de la vida cristiana. En las lecturas de hoy, el agua tiene un significado especial de la salvación de Dios que se extiende a todos, sin importar razas ni origen. En el desierto, los israelitas piden agua y Moisés, dirigido por Dios, golpea con la vara la roca y Dios da, como madre amorosa, agua a sus hijos; les da vida. Cuando Jesús se sienta a conversar con una samaritana esta haciendo algo extraordinario, puesto que en la cultura del tiempo, los hombres no conversaban con las mujeres, y mucho menos con extranjeros despreciados, como eran los samaritanos. Esta enseñanza en si misma es importante para nosotros, pero Jesús hace mucho mas que eso. Con su conocimiento de la realidad y la vida de esa mujer, Jesús le da la Buena Noticia de la salvación. El agua que da Jesús es el agua de la vida eterna. La manera en que Jesús conoce a la Samaritana es sorprendente; sabe todo de ella; y ella, lejos de sentirse avergonzada, se siente liberada, reconocida, perdonada y abrazada por el amor de Dios. Esta es la misma manera en que Jesús nos conoce a cada uno de nosotros; conoce lo mas intimo, lo hermoso de nosotros y también lo doloroso. También conoce nuestra profunda sed de ser conocidos, amados, aceptados y abrazados por su amor; y nos ofrece el agua que nos libera de todo lo que nos ata: lo que nos hace ir a buscar agua cuando nadie nos ve, como la samaritana, y lo que no quisiéramos que supiera nadie. Jesús nos libera de todo eso porque, aunque nos obliga a mirar a nuestra propia vida con honestidad, nos da el agua del amor que limpia y que libera. El agua de nuestro Bautismo, una y otra vez, nos saca de la muerte y nos devuelve a la vida.

Proteged, oh providentísimo Custodio de la Sagrada Familia la escogida descendencia de Jesucristo; apartad de nosotros toda mancha de error y corrupción; asistidnos propicio, desde el Cielo, fortísimo libertador nuestro en esta lucha con el poder de las tinieblas y, como en otro tiempo librasteis al Niño Jesús del inminente peligro de su vida, así, ahora, defended la Iglesia Santa de Dios de las asechanzas de sus enemigos y de toda adversidad, y a cada uno de nosotros protegednos con perpetuo patrocinio, para que, a ejemplo vuestro y sostenidos por vuestro auxilio, podamos santamente vivir y piadosamente morir y alcanzaren el Cielo la eterna felicidad. Amén.
