HOSANNA!
“Hosanna to the Son of David; blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord; hosanna
in the highest” (Matthew 21:9). With these words the Church enters the holiest of weeks, commemorating the passion, death, and resur-
rection of Christ. When the people of Jerusalem cried out with their “hosannas,” they were using
an ancient Hebrew shout of acclamation that meant “Pray, save us.” The king to whom they
were shouting eventually would save them, but in a way that would be far from what they ex-
pected. Salvation would come from the wood of the cross as Jesus hung there to bring freedom from sin and life through death, opening the
gates of heaven for all who put their faith and trust in him.

LA VISITA A LAS SIETE IGLESIAS El Jueves Santo por la noche, una vez que se ha trasladado el Santísimo Sacramento al monumento y se ha expuesto para la adoración de los fieles, existe la tradición popular de visitar siete iglesias o templos. Dicha tradición se inició gracias al fervor eucarístico de san Felipe Neri (1515-1595), motivando a la gente a que al visitar los templos para la adoración al Santísimo Sacramento

of our redemption” (Preface of the Lord’s Passion II, Sacramentary). Thus the Church begins the one week of the year that we formally designate as “Holy.” Simple
rituals can link the domestic church to parish church and Church universal. Enthrone Sunday’s palms where you pray, behind the family crucifix, even as part of front
door decorations: “Christ reigns here,” they proclaim; “all are welcome!” During the first three days of Holy Week,
ready Easter clothes, prepare festal foods, clean the house, beautify the yard. Late Holy Thursday afternoon, share Lent’s final meal before the Lord’s Supper Mass. Pitcher, bowl, and towel make a fitting centerpiece; per-haps conclude the meal by washing each other’s feet. On Good Friday, observe the paschal fast from food—from TV and computer, too! Then come to Holy Saturday’s Vigil with mind clear, stomach empty, and heart full of
“holy anticipation” that bursts into living flame when the new fire is kindled.

The Archdiocese of Atlanta has suspended all public Masses thru April 19th at this time due to Covid-19.
Since there will be no public Mass for Palm Sunday, Bishop Konzen has directed that the palms are not to be blessed, and will be saved, blessed, and distributed at a future se-
lected date when we are allowed to worship together once again.
The Triduum of Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday, along with Easter Sunday will be celebrated privately by our priests. We will provide live streaming on our St. Mi-
chael Facebook page and also thru the link at our St. Michael website. (www.saintmichael.cc) (times to be announced).

Saint Michael Parish Family,
The action of our bishops in the Archdiocese of Atlanta to suspend all public Masses from now March 17th thru April 4th-5th (Palm Sunday) is sad but necessary.
We, your priests want you to know that we are here for you and we want you to continue to pray with us.
Our doors are not locked with Eucharistic Adoration in our sanctuary- even though we should now pray individually, mostly from home, and not in large groups even at church.
Our confessionals are open during the same hours as usual. We will have additional hours for confession later in Lent since our penance ser-vice is cancelled. If you come for confession keep some distance from others who are waiting with you.
With the suspension of Masses obviously the parish will suffer the loss of our Offertory gifts. Please continue to bless St. Michael with your stew-ardship and consider our OnLine Giving option which you can sign up for at our www.saintmichael.cc website, under, OnLine Giving.
Remember, Jesus is Lord of heaven and earth!
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Una Carta del Padre Tim Hepburn Familia de la Parroquia de San Miguel,
La acción de nuestros obispos en la Arquidiócesis de Atlanta para sus-pender todas las Misas públicas desde ahora del 17 de marzo hasta el 4 y 5 de abril (Domingo de Ramos) es triste pero necesaria.
Nosotros, sus sacerdotes, queremos que sepan que estamos aquí para ayudarlos y queremos que continúen orando con nosotros.
Nuestras puertas no están cerradas con Adoración Eucarística en nuestro santuario, a pesar de que ahora debemos rezar individualmente, principalmente desde casa, y no en grupos grandes, incluso en la iglesia.
Nuestros confesionarios están abiertos durante las mismas horas que de costumbre. Tendremos horas adicionales para la confesión más tarde en la Cuaresma ya que nuestro servicio de penitencia será cancelado. 2020 Archbishop’s Annual Appeal Update
On behalf of our pastor Father Tim Hepburn, we’d like to thank the 277 families of St. Michael who have pledged to the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal so far this year. That is an increase of 100 families in the last 30 days. Last year we
had 391 families pledge.
We are on our way to achieving our goal of $73,500 by the end of the year. Remember, every dollar received over our goal, is returned to St. Michael 100%. We recently received our nearly $8,000 rebate check back from the Archdiocese for going over our goal last year. The timing couldn’t have been better with the current offertory shortfall due to the
covid-19 virus and no offertory collections at Mass.
Thank you to all of our parish family for your continued Stewardship blessing to St. Michael through your generous
OnLine giving.
