Admission is free and refreshments are available; bring a friend and a bunch of questions. We encourage RCIA par-ticipants and non-Catholics to join us.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

Not a Catholic? Thinking about becoming Catholic?

Baptized in another Faith? Like to know more about the Catholic Faith?

RCIA is the Catholic Church’s way of bringing new members into the Community of faith. It can be looked at as a “formation Program” for those

entering the Catholic Faith.

Who should consider RCIA? • People who have never been baptized in any faith • Baptized Christians who wish to enter the Catholic Church.

• Catholics who were baptized as small children, but have never learned much about their faith and have not received the Sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation.

Remember it is the members of our Parishes that need to get out among our people and find those who are interested in our Faith!

Invite them to become a Catholic.

For As Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict have told us, we must evangelize our own communities.

RCIA BEGINS SEPTEMBER 14, 2011 7:00 PM AT ST. FRANCIS HALL, OTTAWA

Looking forward to a good group! Fr. Ray Guthrie

STEWARDSHIP REFLECTION

God takes a serious view of sin, but he is eager to forgive sinners. His attitude is well expressed in the Responsorial Psalm, “The Lord is kind and merciful, slow to anger, and rich is compassion.” Our response to God’s mercy must be two-fold. First, in thankfulness for His kind-ness, we commit a portion of our time to prayer and worship, particularly by partici-pating in the Eucharist, the Church’s central act of worship and thanksgiving. Secondly, we hear over and over again that to receive God’s forgiveness for our sins, we must forgive those who hurt us. We pray it in the Lord’s Prayer, and we read the same lesson in the First Reading from Sirach and in the Gospel in Jesus’ Parable of the Unforgiving Servant. Let us then forgive others, so that we in turn may receive forgiveness from God.
