Schedule for the remainder of 2015 is:

November 1st & December 6th.

“The family that prays together, stays together”

From the Pastor’s Desk….

Things are really getting started now. Schools are opening again this week and other parish activities and meetings are starting up again af-ter a summer break. As we are aware that from the first day of Septem-ber 2015 our Parish School has become St. Nicholas of Tolentine Catholic Academy. We encourage all families to consider the Catholic Academy for the education of their children and grandchildren.

Prophet Isaiah proclaims the word of encouragement to the people who were in exile by saying that God personally will save them and restore them to complete health. “He comes to save you”.

St. James in today's second reading describes that we are very quick to judge people by superficial standards. We need the gifts of sight, of hearing and of speech to see as Christ sees, to hear as He hears, and to speak as He speaks.

In today's Gospel reading, Jesus makes contact with a world that is alien to most of us, the world of the deaf. Jesus heals a man who was deaf and dumb. This man was brought to Jesus by others which re-minds us that at times we need others to bring us to Jesus and sometimes others need us to bring them to Jesus for the touch of his mighty hand.

There are so many important things we are not able to hear, so many important things we are not able to say. May Jesus our Savior touch our ears to receive His Word and touch our mouth to proclaim his eternal Word with courage and confidence!

Annual Catholic Appeal: As you can read in this week’s bulletin that as of September 1, 2015, 302 donors from St Nick’s have pledged $70,511 and have paid $53,729 towards our goal of $75,301. If everyone would pledge something we could reach our goal. I thank all those parishioners who have already pledged and encourage others to consider a pledge. Remember that every dollar received over our goal will be returned to the Parish. God bless you, Fr. John Francis

8:00 am - 2:00 pm in Tolentine Hall

Please remember to eat well, sleep well, and as always, to take good care of yourself.

Please help us save lives.

Thank you to all the donors!

You are special - your donation might seem small but it is very important. You can save up to 3 lives with just a pint of your blood. It takes about an hour between filling out the papers and the actual drawing of the blood. You need to be 17 years old (or 16 with written parental consent). You will need a picture identification, like a driver’s license.

See how important you are!

Red Cells - carry oxygen to the body’s organs & tissues needed by Surgery/Trauma Patients Can-cer & Chemotherapy Patients, Accident/Burns Victims and at Risk Infants.

Plasma - is the liquid through which blood cells, proteins, enzymes, nutrients and hormones “swim”. Platelets - act like band-aids to form clots and stop bleeding. Very important to know is that the blood is perishable just like milk. Red cells lasts for 42 days; platelets last for 5 days; plasma can be frozen for up to a year.
