STEWARDSHIP Stewards Renounce Possessions “Everyone of you who does not renounce all his possessions cannot be my disciple.” LUKE 14:33 When we first hear this statement, it seems that Jesus is making an unrealistic demand upon us. How can we renounce all of our possessions? We need them to live. However, what we must renounce is the belief that they belong to us. Everything that we have belongs to God alone. All of our resources are entrusted to us not only for our own use, but also so that we can help others. Once we renounce the idea that we possess or are entitled to anything, it is much easier to live Stewardship and share the many gifts that God has given us. Then we truly are His Disciples. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

THIS IS OUR FAITH The SACRED that surrounds us

Bread & Wine The bread used in the Mass contains wheat, water & no yeast. The wine is made from grapes & contains alcohol. After the words of consecration,

they become the Body & Precious Blood of Christ. Even if we only receive a piece of the Host or a drop of the Precious

Blood, we receive Jesus fully: Body, Blood, Soul & Divinity. On different occasions in the New Testament, Jesus showed that he had the power & authority over natural law. The multiplication of the loaves & fish, turning water into wine, calming the stormy sea. These moments in his ministry assure us that we can trust him & the declaration that this

bread & wine are transformed in their substance with the words of consecration, leaving the outward appearance of bread & wine.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ “MOURNING JOURNEY”
A grief support group will resume its Fall session on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at the Parish of All Saints, (St. Mary Magdalen School) 621 Dock
Street, Millville, N.J. The group is open to any adult who is grieving/mourning the loss of a loved one, whether recent or not. The
support group runs for approximately 10-12 weeks on consecutive Thursday nights. The cost of the program is free, and one need not be
catholic to attend. Having the opportunity to share one’s grief, mourning, thoughts, tears, fears, and yes, even laughter with others who are going
through a similar situation is very therapeutic. Those who have participated in the past sessions have indicated that it has been very
beneficial to them. Space is limited to 10 people. To register or for more information, kindly call Ellen at 856-825-8195 or
the rectory at 856-825-0021. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WE NEED YOUR FAITH, WE NEED YOUR HELP

Catechetical Sunday is September 15, 2019. This is the day that the

whole Church in the US celebrates the ministry & gift of Catechesis. The theme this year is “Stay With Us.” Throughout the years we have noticed that young adults have lost their affiliation to the faith. This has happened

for several reasons, one of which is that young people reach their adulthood without having had a genuine encounter with God & their faith. The ministry of Catechesis is more than just a training in doctrine, it is a

time for our children to experience their faith & have a meaningful encounter with God. This year we are focusing our formation programs on

providing moments of encounter. This requires the help & dedication of our parish members. Encounters happen when we share our own faith experience & love for God. Please consider sharing your time with our

young people. We need catechists for Monday nights from 6pm -7:30pm at Bishop Schad School, Tuesday nights from 5pm-6:30pm at St. Mary

School, Sunday mornings from 10:15am-12pm at Divine Mercy Parish & 12 Thursday a month at Sacred Heart School We are also in need of

classroom aides & hall monitors. You may email [email protected] or [email protected] for

information. You can also call your rectory & they can put you in touch with a catechetical leader. Thank you in advance for your consideration &

your support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Adaptive Learning Program for Children with Special Needs

Are you interested in teaching your faith to children? Do you feel a need to help others & special needs students? The parishes of Vineland are again holding Special Needs CCD classes for those who need more personalized education not available in a typical classroom setting. If you feel you would like to teach this class, and offer your talent, or are the parents of a child who would benefit from these classes and would like to enroll your child, please contact Felicia Navarro at [email protected]. Classes will be held every Tuesday, beginning September 17th, Fall through Spring.
