~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ STEWARDSHIP
Stewardship Faith “Did not God choose those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom that he promised to those who love him?” (JAMES 2:5) What is more important for a Steward – being rich in faith or rich in possessions? Society teaches us that possessions are most important. God teaches a different lesson. When we are rich in faith, we keep God first in all things and realize that material things really don’t matter and that it’s more important to share with those who have less. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Saint Padre Pio Festival Alert!!
As Summer is quickly flying by the Saint Padre Pio Festival is quickly approaching. In approximately two months the church grounds will be filled with parishioners and guests as we come to celebrate the Feast Day of Saint Padre Pio. To make this event a success we need your help. We have provided volunteer cards in each pew. If you can volunteer just a few hours please fill them out and return to the rectory. We also need donations for our raffle baskets. This year in addition to the baskets we will be raffling off a Barb-B-Que Grill and a Fire Pit. We need donations of wine, beer, holiday spirits, soft drinks, lottery tickets, gift certificates and anything related to grilling. All donations may be brought to the rectory or contact Gracie Hoffner (856)213-6748. Your donations have been a great help in the past and we thank you in advance for your generosity in this year's festival. Thanks so much and God Bless, Gracie and Kelly
St. Padre Pio Parish is currently engaged in the Catholic Strong Campaign for the Catholic Community of South Jersey. Our parish serves the spiritual needs of our parish family, marking important milestones throughout our lives. We grow and flourish due to God’s blessings and the extraordinary sacrifices of our people. St. Mary’s School provides outstanding faith based educational opportunities for its students. Our religious education program continues to grow and our volunteer organizations are a visible reminder of a strong and vibrant parish. Padre Pio Parish is the spiritual home for over 1400 families. We come together as family in the celebration of the Eucharist, in prayer and in social activities. In 2018, we continue to celebrate a history rich in tradition and service to God and the community. As vital and active members of the Diocese of Camden, we are participating in the Catholic Strong Campaign to provide resources needed to strengthen our parishes and schools. We are called to support our seminarians, retired priests and deacons, to grow educational opportunities and enhance the ever growing need for social services in our community. While our goal may seem high and our needs significant, I am confident that the parishoners of St. Padre Pio Parish are prepared to lend their support to enable us to complete the visions of past generations and ensure the presence of this parish community in the lives of their children and grandchildren. Our parish will receive 70% of all funds raised up to our target, and then 80% of funds raised thereafter. Our goal is $820,000.00. To date, we have received pledges and donations in the amount of $475,712.00/58.0%. I am asking that you prayerfully consider supporting Catholic Strong. Your prayers, generosity and sacrifice will ensure our success.
