He spent 6 years as a slave, and afterward he decided to
become a priest
He travelled to Ireland to teach people about God
and start Christianity there.
Legends say he sent all the evil snakes away from Ireland and he used shamrocks to teach about
the Trinity

Saint Patrick died March 17 in 461 A.D.
Christians have celebrated this day for over 1000 years.

Leprechauns are short, unfriendly fairies who always have a hidden
pot of gold!
Shamrocks are Ireland’s national
emblem, four-leaf ones are a very lucky
charm!
GREEN!
Green is also the national color of Ireland, whose nickname is the
“Emerald Island”
If you find a Leprechaun, you can trick him into showing you his gold, which is always at the
end of a rainbow.

Over 36.000.000 (11% of the population) people living in the United States have Irish roots!
Two million people attend the New York Parade
every year!
We dye rivers green…
The Chicago River has been dyed green every year since 1962.
Even Obama celebrates…
And of course, we eat and drink a lot!
