Rosary The Rosary is said daily at noon in the parish, either in the church or

the Rosary Garden, unless Mass is going on, then the Rosary will

follow. All are welcome to come and pray.

Welcome to Doug and Sandy Graves 9am Choir

Father Darek and the parishioners of St. Vincent de Paul Parish would like to extend a warm Welcome to Doug Graves and his wife Sandy for performing the Lord’s music for the 9:00 mass throughout the month of May. Many of you will know Doug and Sandy as members of the band who perform at our weekly Life in the Spirit Seminars on Thursday nights. We are very pleased to have them as members of our music liturgy, and invite parish members who play an instrument or who enjoy singing to join Doug

and Sandy as part of the 9:00 choir.

Soup and Sandwich Sun., May 7th

The Knights of Columbus will host a Soup and Sandwich lunch on the May 7

th, from 12:15 to 1:30 pm in the Stewardship Centre.

Cost is $5.00. Also included is a drink (coffee, tea or pop). This is a

new effort to help parishioners who would like to stay for the Country Time concert or just to have lunch with friends. This event is limited to 50 people. Thank you for your continued support.

$300 for Students Attending Post-secondary Education

St. Vincent de Paul CWL will give two $300 bursaries - one to a grade 12 high school student and one to a mature

student - who will be continuing their education. Applicants must be registered members of St. Vincent de Paul parish. A

letter of application and supporting documents must be submitted by May 15 to [email protected]. For

Chilli Supplies for Hope Cottage

CWL members make and serve chilli to needy people at Hope

Cottage every 8 weeks. We welcome donations of the following

items: crushed tomatoes (796ml/28fl. oz. cans), red kidney beans

(540ml/19 oz. cans), packages of chili mix powder, canned

mushrooms and tomato soup. Donations may be placed in the

CWL Hope Cottage basket in the Information Centre closet in the

foyer. Donations of money (for ground beef) may be put in an

envelope marked "CWL for Hope Cottage" and placed in the

collection basket at Mass. Thank you for your support.

ROOF Pledge Campaign

By now all parishioners have received their documents in support of the Roof Repair.

The deadline for return is May 31st.

We ask all parishioners to respond by this date whether you are giving or unable to give. We

request that 100% of our parishioners respond. Thank You.

Equipping the Saints in the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth

Archbishop Mancini wants to equip the saints and needs you to help him! Our bishop invites you join him

as he launches Equip the Saints, our Archdiocesan pastoral plan. A webinar for parish leadership, is

planned for Thursday, May 18 at 7:00pm. This is an opportunity for prayer, reflection, and

information about the pastoral plan. Who should take part in this webinar? If you are a member of

parish ministry staff, pastoral council, finance council, or your parish’s pastoral

planning team please save the date and plan on attending. Since this is being offered by

webinar, you are able to join from anywhere you can access the internet. Directions on how to join the

webinar will be sent out shortly.

providing assistance in end of life situations.

We pray for all who will gather for this time of retreat. May God bless their time together as they seek to be renewed and refreshed in their call to serve the Church of Halifax-Yarmouth.
