RCIA “… Every Christian is a missionary to the extent that he or she has encountered the love of God in Christ Jesus. (The Joy of the Gospel #120)

The Lord feeds us and answers all our needs.

How have you shared this to others; and, have you invited them to come into the flock?

Interested? Contact Sister Mary Agnes, IHM at [email protected] or 610-696-3624 #338

When the Holy Spirit gets hold of our hearts, good things happen.

Paul teaches: “I urge you to live in a manner…of humility, and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another through love”. Eph 4:1-2. Beautiful for us, but for those without a faith experience in Christ it seems absurd. Here are a few common responses I have heard: “you must be kidding me”, “get a life”, “that’s plain stupid”, “you’ll never get anywhere in life”!

With deep emotion and often experiences of being deeply wounded, those responses make sense. However friends, the testimony remains. The witness is given by the household that lives in peace or the great saints who change whole societies. When the grace of the Holy Spirit enters our lives there is a conversion to faith, hope and charity. Our conversion is away from my limited ‘quid pro quo’ or ‘shoot from the hip’ life-style. Our manner of living puts God first in our daily experience. Yes, Christ is the center.

I pray that I will die with these words on my lips: “Dear Jesus, come into my heart and stay with me always”. The abiding presence of ‘The Anointed One’, if I am willing to ask, gives

us without exception supernatural grace to be like Christ. Three basics: “In Christ” we learn to listen in charity, we allow the person to finish a complete thought. Listening establishes respect. Second, I will not condemn a person. That is God’s job, not mine. He came to give us ALL abundant life. Third, I will ask the good Lord for patient speech. Father Meehan taught us as students, men, “You can’t say everything at once”. Relationship building is a slow and beautiful journey. But I need God’s grace, ask and accept his grace and the end story is peace. “Ask and you shall receive”!

God bless you. Father Mike Gerlach

Return to Church The COVID-19 pandemic brought many changes to our lives, to our routines, and even to our Sunday worship. For a period of time we were not able to be personally present for the celebration of Sunday Mass at all. For the last several months, many have been a part of Sunday Mass through live streaming. Now, as the pandemic wanes and restrictions are lifting, I invite all the faithful of the Archdiocese to make their way back to the in person celebration of the Mass. As helpful as livestreaming was during the difficult months of the pandemic, when it comes to the Mass, nothing compares to being there. As many aspects of life are now returning to normalcy, each Catholic Bishop in Pennsylvania will reinstate the obligation to attend Mass in person on Sundays and Holy Days beginning on Sunday, August 15, 2021, the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Most Reverend Nelson J. Pérez, D.D. Archbishop of Philadelphia

Grandparents Day

On January 31, 2021, Pope Francis announced a new celebration in honor of all

Grandparents and the Elderly, who are so important to our communities and our Church. This new World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly will be celebrated every year on the fourth Sunday in July. Today, the Vatican has released Pope Francis' message for the first ever World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly, which will be celebrated on Sunday,

July 25, 2021. Pope Francis has also granted a plenary indulgence to grandparents, the elderly, and all those who participate in a solemn celebration of this day as well as to those who spend time (actually or virtually) with an elderly brother or sister in need on this day.
