Happy Spring! Please contact us at [email protected] or join us on our Facebook group: facebook.com/groups/134185393590144 (where you can also find all the minutes to our previous meetings!) and visit our website: http://www.ncmcs.org/domain/1427. Our website now will post notes that are sent home-‐ so if you lose a note or reminder, you can always check the PTA Website, and the information will be there as long as the teacher has submitted it! Remember, we invite you to join PTA at anytime! Registration forms can be found online or in the office and sent back with your child.
Don’t forget that our Parent Advisory Council (PAC) meetings are a great opportunity to discuss with our principal all the concerns, ideas, and suggestions you have as parents, as well as to educate yourself on our school and the issues, challenges and successes we have. Please join us! One parent representative from our school then goes onto the county wide PAC each month to work together with the other 22 schools in our district to communicate with Dr. Bob, our superintendent of schools. SFL’s next PAC meeting is March 17th at 7:45 AM. We hope to see you there!
Military Connections! We hope you will join our growing group of parents to meet with SFL’s principal and staff, along with liaisons from Ft. Bragg, and our Military Family Life Consultant to discuss military student’s needs, concerns and suggestions on the support needed. Please make plans to attend our next meeting on Tuesday, March 22nd after drop off. There is also information in our lobby for military families to utilize. There are a lot of resources, so please check them out!
PTA Clothes Closet at SFL! We are happy to report our clothes closet at SFL has been widely successful!! This is a great place to find shirts, pants, sweaters, jackets, gloves, mittens, and toiletries and MORE that your family needs. We invite teachers and parents to utilize this great resource as needs arise. If students have an accident or get too messy during the school day-‐ all supplies are there to access for a full clean up! For students needing clothes or toiletries-‐ it is all there, free for the taking! Donations are also accepted-‐ please bring them to the front office marked for the Clothes Closet. A special thanks for
pulling together to support a family who lost their home and belongings to a fire. It is special to belong to such a supportive
community!
Boosterthon Coming Up!! Our PTA's ONE and ONLY fundraiser is around the corner! SFL
PTA will be sponsoring a Boosterthon that will kick off with a pep rally on Wednesday, April 27th. Boosterthon is a fitness and
character based fundraiser focused on helping us increase our funds and inspire our students. Students will have two weeks to gather pledges for how many laps they will run in the Fun Run, which will be held at school on the last day (Friday, May 6th) of the 9-day Boosterthon Fun Run program. During the two week program, not only will the Boosterthon team help us raise funds but will also teach amazing character lessons to our students.
Check out more at boosterthon.com or check out this cute video: morethanarun.com. SFL PTA is excited to offer this new
fundraiser, in lieu of having our students sell products, and hope your family will support full participation with your students!
Don’t miss your last chance to order a 2015-2016 SFL Yearbook! The cost is $20

Playground Update! The first phase of our playground renovation is complete! The kids now have a new swing set, climber, and merry-‐go-‐round to play on as well as two new park benches for sitting in the shade. A BIG thank you to Mr. Travis Greene for tackling the installation of these items as well as the parents who came out (in all types of weather) to help. These playground improvements couldn't have happened without our amazing volunteers! Our next phase will be based on the funds we are able to raise through the Boosterathon. Business donations are appreciated, also!
