Another Successful Pajama Drive Helps Those Most in Need

With leadership from our school Faith Committee, our

students had a Pajama Drive benefitting the Pajama Program,

a non-profit organization that provides new pajamas to

children in need. Together with the ACS community, they

collected and donated a total of 115 pairs of pajamas to the

Arizona Chapter of the Pajama Program, which shares them

with 34 shelters, group homes, foster care and orphanages in

the Phoenix area. Sadly, the number of those in need have

more than doubled since 2012.

Special thanks to Mrs. Susan Larkin for coordinating this

project and sharing the true spirit of Christmas.

To learn more about the national Pajama Program organization, please visit http://pajamaprogram.org/WordPress/. Or to reach the Phoenix chapter of the Pajama Program visit

http://pajamaprogram.org/WordPress/chapters/arizona-chapter/.

Due to some recent gifts to the campaign for

the permanent building, we exceeded our

December 31 benchmark goal of $500,000. One

major gift of $250,000 put our total to date at

$589,913. The Campaign Committee is

working diligently to move us toward our goal

of $8.5 million dollars, and will be seeking the

support of all stakeholders — parents,

grandparents, parishioners, friends, and the

greater community.

5th Annual Christmas Program Sings in the Birth of Our Savior

Family and friends of Annunciation filled St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church to full capacity for

the 5th annual Christmas program. The evening featured a live Nativity, holiday songs performed by all

students from Kindergarten through 6th grade including solo and group instrumental performances by

various students on the harp, cello, violin, piano and ukulele. The finale of the program was a beautiful

and moving performance of the Christmas Canon sung by the entire student body.

Congratulations to our

students and their

music teachers, Mrs.

Trayer and Mrs. Jessing,

for preparing and

presenting such a

memorable evening.
