Multi-Purpose Design

Gender Neutral Domestic Violence Shelter

This is a multi-purpose building for a gender-neutral domestic violence shel-ter in Rochester NY. This was an evidence based design researching on what needed to be in the shelter, learning about domestic violence to understand what the victims were going through and research on what makes people feel safe. The concept of Pause and Refresh was designed with intent of a spa getaway feel. The use of openness and glass gives a safe environment. From research, walking into a space that someone can see who is in it before enter-ing gives a safe feeling. This environment allows for comfort and the ability to refresh on new beginnings.

CIAS Of The FutureDesign Charette with a group of 6 students from Freshman to Senior. We were given 7 days to come up with design for the space we were given. We were also given specifiv vendors to use for products. The space was dark and didnt have any seting areas. We added an architec-tural element to the space to make it a more important area. We added a graphic to the wall to show off the schools talents. The display cases were not being used good so we added box displays with better light-ing to show off work. A living wall was added to be similar to the rest of the school with sustainability an important aspect to RIT.

Engineering Office Bright Device

This office Building is on the 16th floor. The firm is an engi-neering firm called Bright Device. I decided to go for a raw warm environment. I researched the new open space feel for offices. The employees are able to work close together and not have higher rank office spaces.

Magical store, mystery and exploration of rocks and minerals and other products. The path of travel is through a circulation of a spiral bringing the client to the cash register. The cobble stone and river creates a path to explore the store.
