Instrumentation, (Elec. Engg.), from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay. He receivedBachelor Degree with Gold Medal in Electrical Engineering from BVM Engg. College, Sardar PatelUniversity, Gujarat, India in 1984.

Dr. Kamat is currently at BEM as its Managing Director with a challenge to revive the sick unit - a nearimpossible mission. BEM has successfully launched under his guidance energy efficient Smart LEDstreet-lamps called Light-Saber. He is also currently serving as Director (Industries) of GTU InnovationV.V.Nagar-1 Sankul. He is also a visiting faculty to local engineering colleges and has a number ofDoctoral, Master’s and Bachelor’s students working with him. He has a number of conference andjournal publications to his credit.

During talk, Dr. Vithal Kamat conveyed the knowledge on the significance of IoT in the smart age.Coming from the industry he gave a introductory talk on what IoT means because this is the age of IoT.This is the revolution that everyone is talking about. Next wave of internet is not about people, its aboutintelligent connected devices.

He clearly explained what all we can do with IoT : Monitor things, Search for things, Manage thingsand Control things. The session became more interesting and interactive when Dr. Kamat activelyengaged the curious students about applications of IoT.

Finally, the session was concluded by vote of thanks by Prof. (Dr.) Mayuri Mehta. We acknowledgeand thank Sarvajanik Education Society and Sarvajanik College of Engineering & Technology forproviding the necessary infrastructure for conducting the expert talk. We also thank Dr. VaishaliMungurwadi, Principal, SCET for her continuous guidance and motivation in organizing .

Herewith we have attached some glimpse of our expert lecture.
