A seven-day orientation course for NSS programme officers mainly from Jharkhand and Bihar began atCentral University of Jharkhand today

Ranchi, May 28: A seven-day orientation course for NSS programme officers mainly from Jharkhand and Bihar began at Central University of Jharkhand today.

About 100 POs of different plus two level and UG level institutions across the two states took part in the programme that was jointly organiased by Training Orientation and Research Centre (TORC),Ramkrishna Mission Ashrama, Narendrapur in Kolkata and Central University of Jharkhand.

CUJ vice chancellor Prof A N Misra graced the inaugural session as chief guest and dean of students’ welfare Prof SK Samdarshi presided over the programme in presence of coordinator (training)TORC, Pro TK Panda and Prof Amitava Khandait, Lecturer, TORC.

The vice chancellor in his address gave a brief profile of the university, its academic thrust and students’ activities. He said the CUJ besides imparting education also tries to inculcate the sense of socialresponsibility.

Prof Samdarshi gave an account of social responsibilities and the CUJ’s emphasis on making students grow with sense of duty and deliver their bits for society as citizens. He hoped that the NSSprogramme would help to a great extent towards this goal.

Mr Dipak Kumar, youth officer and regional head of NSS informed about the weeklong prgramme.

Prof Panda delivered the welcome speech while Dr P K Sarma, coordinator on behalf of CUJ proposed the vote of thanks.

Report on Blood Donation Camp organized in Central University of

Jharkhand on 12th

September 2014.

NSS-Central University of Jharkhand in collaboration with Voluntary Blood

Donors Association and Blood Bank RIMS, Ranchi organized a blood donation

camp in the University campus. The camp started at around 11:00 A.M and ended

at around 03:30 P.M. This blood donation camp was the product of hard work of

student volunteers of CUJ namely Prakash Hembrom, G. Megha Shyam, Dheeraj

Kumar Gupta, Rimjhim Dipshi etc. During the camp total 120 volunteer

participated in registration process and after preliminary onsite medical screening

for health history, blood hemoglobin level, body weight and blood pressure nearly

70 individuals were selected for the donation. Apart from students few staff

members as well as security staff working in the university voluntarily participated

in the camp.

Blood Donation Camp Report

A blood donation camp was organized by National Service Scheme unit CUJ in collaboration

with Health Centre, CUJ and Nagarmal Modi Seva Sadan, Ranchi on 30.10.2018 from 9.30 AM

to 2.30 PM at New Health Centre, CUJ. Eighty-eight donors (student, staff, faculty) from

different departments of University donated their blood in this camp. After donations, donors

were provided with juice and food including biscuits and banana. The samples were carefully

sealed and transported away. NSS volunteers, coordinator and program officers helped in

managing whole event enthusiastically.

We thank students and staffs of CUJ campus community for coming forward for this great cause.
