I feel exultant to place in front of you, the placement brochure for the 17th batch of School of Management (SOM), NIT Warangal. Since the inception of the department, School of Management has always been evolving a culture of excellence, innovation & synergy towards the path of development of management education. For the past 17 years, it has excelled apart from other Management colleges by providing a stage for amalgamation of efficient engineers from various backgrounds to raise them as productive techno-managers. The accreditation from TCS, Best B-School Awards over the years stands as a testimony for it.

We have designed a comprehensive course curriculum which is oriented towards imparting management education through case studies, group discussions and team activities based upon corporate expectations and I am confident that it will empower them to face any challenges. The in-built industry interaction curriculum has allowed us to create a talent pool of enthusiastic and industry ready youth who will be able to work to realize corporate visions and this has been proved by the distinguished alumni of SOM shining in their respective job profiles across organizations setting a benchmark for the forthcoming batches.

The MBA program has moved on to complete 17 years of excellence and commitment towards creating and nurturing "Techno-managers ready for tomorrow". In the contemporary world of rapidly changing global business, which are technology intensive and consumer oriented, the acumen needed for managers is being revolutionized. Recognizing this the institute has designed a comprehensive MBA programme exclusively for engineers. Thus came to light the “School Of Management (SOM)” at NIT Warangal.

The MBA program offered by the School of Management is exclusively for engineering graduates. It is a two year course that runs into 8 quarters. The program has extensive electives in the specialised areas of Marketing Management, Human Resource Management, Financial Management, Operations Management and allied areas of management. Students are exposed to industrial training (8weeks) after completion of 1st year and the project work (12weeks) during their final quarter.

The school of Management provides a well-balanced combination of academic and practical business oriented content. The updated curriculum with its wide range of video materials, databases like prowess, case studies, research projects and other tools aim at enhancing the understanding of the business reality and also imbibing problem-solving skills. The school has been accredited with Tata Consultancy Services and is having good placements. The School has fully air conditioned classrooms with Wi-Fi facility and on-desk microphone with other modern digital gadgets.

ABHIYAN CLUB: The non linearity of knowledge explosions is forcing the emergent business organisation to become borderless complex adaptive system. In order to comprehend the complexity and select the intelligent pathways one should require not only the knowledge of technology but also the holistic perception through unity of thoughts, vision and action. With this regard Abhiyan club an exclusive MBA student association was formed in year 2003.

Abhiyan club organises live events like Business plans, New product Marketing, Virtual Stock Market, Group discussions, Stress Interviews, AD-Mad, Young Manager event etc. These activities are organised weekly and occasionally in the presence of faculty members for better assessment and improvement of students.

CURA:

“CURA” is a momentous management meet conducted by the students of School Of Management, NITW to encourage budding managers across the country. CURA signifying “Thoughtfulness” is a platform to unleash the potential of the management aspirants all over India. The aim of the event is to elucidate the major business activities through different events thus to elicit the diverse responses from admiring students of management. Undoubtedly this event is a beacon of light for all those who can balance and blend their skills with palatable and innovative ideas accompanied with verve.
