“Aristotelio” Educational Center for Sciences and Culture was established in 2014.

Located at Volos - Greece

After plenty … decisions … actions …

… lot of discussions … - finally convince - the municipality authorities…..

… for a place where we settled up…

… and start to create our environment and our big idea.

The “Center” through targeted holistic interventions:

Science Culture Educational Center “Aristotelio” (Nonprofit organization)

• Builds a multi-facet and multi-level environment of formal and non formal education, which are organized in the form of structured activities and programs.

• Produce a innovative learning environment where knowledge and experience come together in order to acquire meaning and to gradually reconstruct the experiences of the participants.

• Schedule and implement innovative educational projects related to STEM education.

• Aims at Students – Teacher - Parents

"Nothing is able to teach us better than our own experiences"

For the School year 2014 – 2015, the Center has scheduled and implemented three educational projects related to STEM education:

1. “From Aristarchus to Copernicus: Inquiry the Universe”. A project about Space, Universe and ESA, for early secondary students.

2. “Good Morning Mister Higgs”. A project about particle physic and CERN, for 6th grade of primary education.

3. “Learning With Uncle – Julius (Vern)”. A project

about sciences, for 5th grade of primary education.

Also implemented series of scientific programs and activities referred to International Year of Light.

In only six months the “Center” implemented projects for 146 students 5th and 6th grade of primary school and 1st grade of secondary school.

The students participated were 146 87 boys and 59 girls

Indoor and outdoor scientific activities for students

Educational trips in significant science places around Europe.

Although the center puts emphasis on young ages students it simultaneously aims at the formation of experiences both for teachers … and ,,,

… parents through spiral, constant lifelong learning and education.

Expand our STEM activities and programs to a great number of participants student – teachers – parents.

Make our “Center” an educational science point where students – teachers, not only from Greece, but also from all over the Europe, will be gathered, will be educated but mostly will interact by exchanging deas and good practices about STEM education.

Be member of a wide education community by participating in a group of organizations or educational projects.

… for the future

Find ways to be founded so as to establish in our facilities a physics – chemistry and robotics laboratory, a planetarium and a library.
