Many patients spend considerable amounts of time on the internet searching for quality disease and treatment information. David Oziel walks through the well know PubMed search engine and some of derivative websites which enable users to sort through scientific publications for their disease. David Oziel is a consultant in the field of Internet health information. He is specialized in databases, quality of medical information, disease classification, and Web 2.0 tools. He also teaches information management at Paris Universities. His background includes biochemistry and information science studies. He participated to the creation of Orpha.net and was the responsible for the information of the rare disease database. During nine years, his areas of responsibility included relationship with the members of the Scientific Committee, database quality, training for Orpha.net teams in Europe and coordination of their activity.
