What Does It Really Mean To "Adore" The Lord? Is It Certain Words We Say When We Pray? Is It A Particu-lar Feeling We Have During Prayer? Is It Something That We Only Do In Church? "Adoration" Is One Of The Four Ends Of Prayer (Also Atonement, Supplication, and Thanksgiving). Have We "Adored" The Lord If We Read A Pious Book or Beseech God For Our Needs While In His True Presence Before The Blessed Sacrament? Have We Adored The Lord When We Make Time In Our Busy Schedule To Visit Him In Church? When Have We Really "Adored" The Lord? To "Adore" The Lord Means More Than Just Saying " I Adore You." True Adoration Involves A Docile Heart, An As-sent To God's Sovereignty Over Our Lives, A Constant Posture Of Humility Before Him, And Gifts Of Love Offered In Homage. The Concise Dictionary Of Theology Defines Adoration As "The Highest Reverence To Be Offered To God, Our Creator, Redeemer, And Sanctifier Who Alone Should Be Worshiped And Glorified. " St. Thomas Aquinas Stated: "Adoration Is Primarily An Interior Reverence For God Expressing Itself Secondarily In Bodily Signs Of Humility: Bending Our Knee (To Express Our Weakness Compared To God) And Prostrating Ourselves (To Show That Of Ourselves We Are Nothing). When We Come To "Adore" The Lord, We Should Be Like The Magi. Who Came To Adore The Lord Bearing Gifts. ¿Qué significa realmente "Adorar" al Señor? ¿Con ciertas palabras que decimos cuando oramos? ¿Es un sentimiento especial que tenemos durante la oración? ¿Es algo que sólo hacemos en la Iglesia? La "Adoración" es uno de los cuatro fines de la oración (también la expiación, la súplica y acción de gra-cias). ¿Hemos "Adorado" al Señor si leemos un libro piadoso o le damos a Dios nuestras necesidades mientras que estamos en su verdadera presencia ante el Santísimo Sacramento? ¿Hemos adorado al Se-ñor cuando dimos el tiempo para visitarlo en la Iglesia? ¿Cuándo hemos realmente "Adorado" al Señor? STATEMENT OF CALIFORNIA BISHOPS ON THE TRANSPORT OF DISPLACED MIGRANT CHILDREN AND FAMILIES TO CALIFORNIA
In recent days, the people of our state have witnessed the arrival of hundreds of displaced people, mostly women and chil-dren, to various locations in Southern California. The Bishops of California wish to express our solidarity with these immigrant brothers and sisters who are coming to our state and to offer our prayer that God will deliver them to the safe environment they seek.
We also recognize our responsibility as a Church of compassion to come to their aid and help provide them with the practical and pastoral support they so need.
These children and families have journeyed to our country, fleeing violence and destitution in Central America. Sadly, their experience in California has thus far been marked by hostility and near chaos. They are exhausted, afraid and clinging to hope.
The gravity of this situation transcends politics; it is truly a humanitarian crisis that calls all of us, Catholics and others of good will, to respond with compassion and with urgent action.
The response of Catholic agencies and other community-based groups has already begun. Catholic Charities, working in collaboration with directly affected dioceses and other service organizations, is mobilizing to help these immigrants in centers of hospi-tality and assistance. Many individuals have contacted our parishes and social service agencies asking how they can help. This re-flects the best of the American spirit.
We are particularly concerned about the safety and security of the thousands of unaccompanied children that have crossed our border, without a parent or guardian and without family ties to the US. They desperately need our help.
Federal officials believe that groups of migrants will continue to arrive throughout the summer. The most affected dioceses will be asking parishioners and others for donations of time and money. We ask you to respond to this call. In this critical moment, Jesus’ parable of the Good Samaritan reminds us of what we are called to do.
Federal, state and local government agencies also have a role to play in responding to this heartbreaking situation. We urge Congress to appropriate the resources necessary to care for unaccompanied children. We also urge opposition to the “fast track au-thority” requested by the Administration that could send children back to the violence they attempted to flee without a proper hearing—and in violation of their rights.
We recognize the passion surrounding this issue. We call on all Californians of good will to express themselves with civility and respect, and to refrain from violence. We ask the Catholic community to join together in solidarity with these children of God, our brothers and sisters, to provide help and give them hope. Our strength as a nation has always been a matter of the heart. May the heart of Christ guide the people of California to a just and compassionate response for these huddled masses of children gathered at our door.

Catechetical Registrations Open for all Ages
We offer the following programs: AGES 3, 4, 5: St. Lucy offers catechesis for early childhood. Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. (in English) and from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. (in Spanish/bilingual). GRADES K-6: Catechesis in English. The chil-dren receive the First Communion after their 2nd year of catechesis. Sundays from 10:00 to 11:15 a.m. We also offer ongoing catechesis. GRADES 1-6: Catechesis in Spanish. The chil-dren receive the First Communion after their 2nd year of catechesis. Sundays from 11:30 to 12:45 p.m. or Tuesdays from 4:00 to 5:15 p.m. Ongoing catechesis Thursdays from 4:00 to 5:15 pm JUNIOR HIGH 7/8: All youth are invited to partici-pate in EDGE Youth Ministry. Youth will get Sacra-mental Preparation in their 2nd year if required. Mon-days from 7:00 to 8:30 p. m. HIGH SCHOOL: Life Teen Youth Ministry. This ministry is for all young people who are in "High School" regardless that they have received their sacraments or not.
