Goals
• Establish long-term boundary adjustments for all high schools
• Maximize existing resources
• Relieve the increased projected enrollment at Hamilton and Perry High Schools
• Develop new 9-12 grade high school boundaries to keep enrollment between 1500-2000 students
• Ensure the least amount of disruption for students and families
• Broaden ACP Erie’s model of success to more students

beginning in the 2021-2022 school year
• New 9-12 High School could open with grades
9-10 or 9-12 depending on the boundary option
selected

CUSD Applied Economics Report, 2019-2020 5
• Strong projected growth in high school enrollment is expected over the next 10 year period, particularly during the first 5 years
• Increased projections for every attendance area ranging from 300 to 700 students each
• Total 9-12 enrollment projected to grow by 2600 students by 2023-2024
• Additional high school growth of 900 students by 2028-2029
• Largest growth will occur in the Hamilton and Perry high school boundaries
• This trend is evidenced by a growth of 986 students in grades 7-12 for the 2019-2020 school year
• Although some elementary students choose options outside of the district, families return to CUSD for junior high and high school

• Comprehensive High School in line with other high schools in the district

• Looping math and English teachers from 9th to 10th grade
• Four year college and career action plan will consist of developing an individualized learning plan for each student
• Student enrollment will be based on approved boundaries and open enrollment

• ACP Erie recognitions,
o 2019 National Blue Ribbon School
o Top High School as recognized by Niche, US News and World Report and
the Washington Post
o Received a Grade “A” from the Arizona Department of Education
o Recognized as an A+ school by the Arizona Education Foundation
o In 2018-2019, ACP Erie graduates earned $20,177,868 in Scholarships

Proposed PHS Boundaries and
ACP Erie to New 9-12 High School• Pros to moving ACP Erie to the new 9-12 high school
• Fiscally responsible by maximizing district resources
• 6 million in savings based on construction planed to improve the football
stadium at AJHS and the addition of a two story building at Erie
• Established staff - Cost savings of not hiring a whole new staff
• Growth is not in one location in the district and this option will allow growth in
all areas
• ACP Erie can expand and offer its successful program to more students
• Does not disrupt boundaries of all district high schools

• Established school and staff that allows full programming to start the first year
• Moving ACP Erie will allow Oakland to move to the Erie campus to address growth
• ACP Oakland will have athletic facilities moving to Erie
• If ACP Oakland moves to Erie, the available site will be used to expand academic programming. (Ex. First responders school)
• New wing at CHS will give CHS increased capacity for students moving from HHS
• Reduces PHS enrollment over time
