The training, , will instruct teachers on how to successfully add a file as an attachment to an email. Not only will all the teachers and staff benefit from the training but students will learn through their teachers.

Needs Assessment:

With the ever changing and evolving technologies, professionals are having a difficult time keeping up with all these new things. For the most part email has stayed pretty consistent. But sometimes it is a difficult task for some to properly add an attachment like a file or document of some sort to an email.

Needs Assessment:

The information they learn through this training will give them the step by step process, in detail, and the knowledge they need to know to be able to successfully add an attachment to an email. The presentation will include screen shots that show step by step processes.

Needs Assessment:

After completing this training, new and returning teachers will be able to successfully add an attachment to an email.  

Instructional Goal:

Objective #1 Using soft chalk presentation (CN), the learner will learn how to add an attachment to an email (B) with 90% accuracy (CR).

Rubric Criteria: Was the learner able to attach a document to an email, successfully? Excellent, Good or Poor(See assessment rubric)

The target audience with be new and current teachers ranging from ages of early 20s to late 60s employed at Long Elementary in Harlingen, Texas.

The learners will possess basic computer skills to run a desktop and/or laptop PC computer and use Microsoft Outlook Webmail.

Additional information the learners would need would be to make sure their desktop and/ or laptop PC computer and all other technology equipment in their classroom is updated to their current versions.

Learner Characteristics:

The intended instructional setting will be primarily in the workplace setting, specifically the cafeteria where all staff and teachers can fit comfortably. The teacher’s assigned laptop will also meet the training requirements. If time constraints and work-related responsibilities do not permit access at the workplace, then a computer or laptop with internet and employee webmail access will be needed so the presentation can be sent to all of the teacher’s email addresses.

Welcome to the presentation training where you will learn how to properly add an attachment to an email. The end result will give you knowledge to properly use and pass the information on to your students.

(c) What does the presentation include?

The presentation includes an introduction to attaching a file to your email.

After each introduction you will be able to practice attaching different files to an email.

You will also be provided with screen shots of step by step instructions on how to attach a file to an email.

Lesson 1: Introduction to adding a file as an attachment to your email.

• The learner will learn the proper way to add a file as an attachment to an email.

• To reinforce learning the learner will be able to practice the task of adding an attachment after each step and repeating the steps with different attachments to different emails.

Summary: The learner will be thanked for viewing the soft chalk presentation and a copy of the presentation will be printed out and handed to the learner to assist them for future referencing.

Assessment: The final assessment will consist of the learner knowing how to properly attach a file to an email. A rubric containing all the essential elements provided in the online training will be used to assess the learner’s knowledge. The following slide contains the rubric that will be used for the assessment.

The learner will require specific hardware and software to accomplish the soft chalk presentation, namely the following:

Hardware: a desktop or laptop PC computer with Internet access and email access.

Software: SoftChalk Software

Optional Hardware: a printer if the learner wants to print out the SoftChalk presentation if they were not able to receive a copy at the training.

My co-worker who is a Kindergarten teacher at long elementary will serve as a Subject Matter Expert in reviewing the Softchalk Presentation. A friend who is familiar with teaching and technology will serve as a peer reviewer and evaluate the effectiveness of the Softchalk presentation. I will rely on the feedback provided by both reviewers to make appropriate changes to the Softchalk presentation to accommodate the learning needs of my audience.

Formative Evaluation:

By completing this PowerPoint presentation new and existing teaches will be able to use and navigate through new and existing technology that is introduced to their classrooms.

Not only will they learn about the proper ways to used the technology but they will also be able to pass down the information to their students.
