SERVICEWA APP ASSISTANCE WORKSHOPS The Library team are able to assist all community members to download the ServiceWA app. The small group workshops will allow our community to ask for the assistance needed to download the MyGovID and Service WA apps. Bookings are essential as this is a high interest event with limited group sizes. Please call respective library to confirm your desired date to avoid disappointment. WEARABLE ART MANDURAH CASM EXHIBITION Don’t miss this unique opportunity to view a curated selection from the 2021 Wearable Art Mandurah Showcase. Get up close and fully appreciate the materials, technical skill and imagination that make these garments so extraordinary. Newsletter March 2022 The new level one public health and social measures have meant some changes for the Centre. The 2m² rule has been implemented throughout the whole Centre so you may have noticed some chairs removed and room capacity restrictions. We ask you to continue with your ServicesWA app, mask wearing, good hygiene, social distancing and please stay home if you are unwell. Cleaning e quipment has been placed in each room and can you please wipe down tables, chairs and any equipment used after finishing your activity. What’s Happening in Mandurah Have you joined the City of Mandurah Seniors Facebook Group? The Centre has its own Facebook group to keep you up to date on our menu, activities and events. It is the perfect way to keep connected with us and with other members. To join our Facebook Group, follow 3 easy steps. 1. When logged into Facebook search for “City of Mandurah Seniors” 2. Along the top of your screen select “Groups” 3. Click “Join” and answer two quick questions. If you don't already receive this Newsletter electronically, you can sign up to our mail list by heading to our Seniors Centre page on mandurah.wa.gov.au and click ‘sign up now’. Introduction Time is flying by and it is hard to believe that March is now with us! We would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding during the implementation of the mandated vaccination requirement in the Seniors Centre. We appreciate that we've asked you many times to show your proof of vaccination, to wear a mask, to scan in, socially distance and show your membership card! That's a lot to juggle! Seeing your smiling faces during this process has made it easier for us all and can we say a big thank you. We are working very hard to continue to provide the best range of services, activities and fun events for our members, in the safest space that we can. If we concentrate on kindness we can all work together to keep our Centre the great space that it is. Exercising in the outdoors boosts your mental health, relieves stress and allows you to get fit and active in a friendly and welcoming environment. To join in this free exercise class there is no need to book in, just meet at Keith Holmes Reserve each Wednesday morning at 9am - 9.45am from 23 February – 13 April 2022. ANNOUNCEMENT The Seniors Centre was recently nominated for an Australia Day Active Citizenship Award. We received a Certificate of Appreciation and attended a celebratory morning tea. Thank you so much for the nomination Sandy Austin. We were thrilled and proud to represent the staff, volunteers and members that attend our Centre. You can see a photo of L isa, Delys and Sandy with the Certificate included with the Happy Snap's.
