ABOUTRecruiteX is the recruitment index for India. It is an analysis identifying the hiring activity and trends in India Inc. Based on tactful extraction and examination of jobs posted and applied for in a month, it details ‘recruitment’ as a process backed by hiring sentiments of a recruiter and aspirations of a job seeker.
METHODOLOGYRecruiteX represents the demand aspects of recruitment. Demand for talent is computed by factoring activities of recruiters on TimesJobs.com. This demand is integrated with numbers collected by our offline team and then segregated according to top industry verticals, functional areas and locations. The base value for the index has been kept
at 100 for the month of December 2010. All RecruiteX values for subsequent months represent the trend of RecruiteX viz-a-viz December 2010.RecruiteX, in its most comprehensible format, is aimed to provide a detailed insight of the recruitment market in India to employers, recruiters and job seekers alike.

September 2016
TALENT demand dropped by 8 per cent during September 2016, as hiring activity lost pace across key
sectors, reveals latest RecruiteX, the recruitment index by TimesJobs. Legal/ law was the only sector to witness rise in hiring activity during September 2016. Entertainment,
media and journalism professionals reported rise in demand, while demand was stable for doctors, nurse, medical professionals and legal/law professionals during the month. Among locations, north-eastern states posted significant rise in talent demand. In top ten locations, Indore saw rise in demand while most other
key locations reported stable to negative hiring activity. Among states, Orissa and Maharashtra (except Mumbai and Pune) posted rise in talent demand. Hiring gained momentum for professionals with less than 2 years of experience, as other experience categories saw sluggish demand in September 2016.

n Entertainment, media, journalism profiles reported 3% rise in demand. The function reported an average 2% rise since June 2016.
n Engineers witnessed 19% drop in demand. The profile has reported an average 4% drop since June 2016.
n Sales profile saw 9% drop in demand and IT/telecom professionals saw 6% drop in demand.
