    NEW HORIZONS’ RULE REMINDERS

Here are some Association rules that are important to follow to make life pleasant for everyone.

    1. Quiet time begins at 10:00 pm. and ends at 7:00 am.

    2. Children must be accompanied in all areas. The Golf course is for adults 18 and older.

    3. Animals must be on a leash when outdoors. Please pick up after them.

    4. Conserve water. Balcony and patio hosing are prohibited. Extra plant watering is discouraged to keep our water bills down.

    5. Work requests must be obtained before planting. This is to allow us to determine if what you want to plant is compatible with our environment.

    6. Garages are for vehicles only, not for storage.

    7. Tum water supply handle off for your unit when leaving for vacation. You can check with the office to have one of the workers show you where it is located.

WAITING FOR A DELIVERY OR SERVICE TECH?

The last time you ordered something over the internet or phone, did you remember to add your building and access numbers?

The delivery people for both food and packages, plumbers, technicians, etc. are spending a lot of time walking around totally lost. This usually happens when they don’t know where

Maple Avenue ends and Nadine Circle begins. It only takes a second to add your building and access numbers when giving your address. Everyone coming to New Horizons for the first time will benefit from this extra information. Maggie Pagan

    CONGRATULATIONS TO LEON SILVERMAN

Leon and his partner, Simon Mynt from Newhall, won the over-90’s Doubles Championship after a grueling 2 hour and 5 minute match held at the 2019 Pacific Southwest Senior Tennis Championship. The event was the 93rd annual sponsored by the Palisades Tennis Club in Newport Beach. Score: 6-4, 3-6, 10-7 Tie Breaker.

LABOR DAY GOLF TOURNAMENT SEPT. 2, 2019

The Golf Club held its annual Labor Day tournament. We had a great turnout with twenty-seven members and two guests joining in on the fun. Congratulations to

Harada Hiroko for the Hole-in-One on #12. Congratulations to all the winners, and thanks to everyone who showed up to make this tournament such a success. Coming up next for the Golf Club will be the Club Championships on October 12 & 13. Starting time will be 9:00 am on both days. There will be a nice lunch and trophy presentation when we finish on Sunday. Keep a look-out for the sign-up sheets in the Golf Room. They'll be going up later in the month. Pay tournament fees in advance to Renee Chang or Larry Neville and Kay Mori. Good Luck!

    THE DMT MEETING

The American Red Cross came to New Horizons on September 19, once again to help us prepare for helping each other during an earthquake or other disaster. Thank you to all who attended. We are very grateful for Nedan Rambo for his great work with our Disaster Management Team. Please Mark your calendars: We will hold a mock drill on October 24th at 3:00 pm. Please place your OK signs where they are easily seen from outside your unit, (on your front door or sliding glass door.) This will expedite the drill. You can remove them at 4:00 pm. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
