IBCS Guest ChefInternational Baptist College and Seminary is looking for guest chefs to cook periodically for students on Sundays during the fall semester. This gives the regular cooks a break and allows the students to enjoy a wider variety of food. If you are interested, contact Pastor Jeff (jeff [email protected]).
Nursery Volunteers NeededThe nursery provides loving care for children so their parents are free to worship God and fellowship with other believers during church services. If you have children in the nursery, if you have volunteered in the past, or if you just feel God leading you to volunteer in this important ministry, please let Colette Olson, Michelle Duprey, or Janet Paine know. You can email Janet at [email protected].

Thank You Notes“Dear Tri-City Church Family, After several weeks of refreshing ministry in Colorado, we are excited to be traveling again. This month we were in fi ve diff erent states. Please pray with us for traveling mercies. October 8th is coming quickly. We are almost packed and ready to go. Thank you for your generous support during this crazy, God-ordained year.” George & Lexie Binoka
“The verse, ‘houses fi lled with all good things that thou fi lledst not. . .’ (Deut. 6:11) has come to my mind all week long. Peter painted our new pantry shelves on Saturday, and on Sunday we fi lled them with all the good things you have given us. What a huge blessing and encouragement this has been as we make this transition. We are well supplied and deeply thankful! Thank you for this rich blessing!” Peter and Leslie Davis

Further Considerations
Joshua 6:1-5What was the response in Jericho to Israel’s entering the land? (See also Joshua 5:1.) What are some methods of ancient warfare for defeating a fortifi ed city? What does verse 2 indicate about the outcome of the battle? How can this truth encourage you in battles you face?Joshua 6:6-19How were the people to behave as they marched around the city? How do you think the people of Jericho responded to this sight as the days continued? What might the soldiers have thought as they saw the size of the walls of Jericho? What is the signifi cance of the presence of the Ark of the Covenant as Israel marched around Jericho? What does the Ark represent? What does this method of “warfare” reveal about the battle and the victory? What are some other Biblical examples of God using unlikely or “impossible” methods to accomplish His purpose? Why is it important to keep your eyes on the Lord when facing seemingly insurmountable situations? Joshua 6:20-27How does Rahab’s response to Israel’s coming diff er from the response of the rest of Jericho? What does this reveal about God’s grace? Read Genesis 15:13-16. Why did God not give Abram the land immediately? What does this indicate about God’s judgment at the time of Joshua? Read 2 Peter 3:9. What is the purpose of God’s patience? In what ways has God been patient with you? How should the realization of God’s judgment encourage you to share the Gospel with others?
